摘要: In a flat type image forming apparatus formed by electron emitting devices, the invention is to provide a light emitting substrate, capable of relaxing influence of an abnormal discharge on the electron emitting devices. On a glass substrate 1, a resistor member 4 extending in X- and Y-direction, and a black member 6 extending in X- and Y-directions are formed. Phosphors 5 are positioned in apertures of the black member 6, and are covered by metal backs 7 divided in X- and Y-directions. The metal backs 7 and the resistor member 4 are electrically connected through the black member 6, and the resistance between the metal backs 7 is defined by the resistor member 4 in the Y-direction in which the adjacent metal backs 7 have a wider gap than in the X-direction.

摘要: Disclosed is a lock assembly 10 adapted to be detachably attached to a LAN-cable connector 106 which is integrally fixed to a LAN cable 100 and adapted to be removably inserted into a socket 102 of a computer 102 and latched at an inserted position thereof. The lock assembly is operable, when attached to the LAN-cable connector, to allow the LAN-cable connector 106 after being inserted into the socket 104 to be locked at the inserted position, and, when detached from the LAN-cable connector 106, to allow the LAN-cable connector 106 to be removed from the socket 102. The lock assembly of the present invention can substantially preclude a PC from being moved out so as to obtain an antitheft effect in a simplified structure.

摘要: The present invention provides a DC brush motor rotation amount detection method comprising the steps of: counting pulses generated by switching of brushes when a DC brush motor rotates; removing any noise pulse generated during a pulse rejection period which is shorter than a pulse interval and which is started when each pulse is generated; counting pulses generated during pulse acceptance periods outside the pulse rejection periods; and detecting a rotation amount of the DC brush motor, wherein the pulse rejection period during steady-state operation of the DC brush motor is ended when a predetermined time elapses from a start point of the pulse rejection period, where the predetermined time is calculated by multiplying a pulse interval of a corresponding pulse zone one rotation before a pulse zone to which the pulse rejection period belongs by a coefficient K(½

摘要: An image display apparatus is provided, in which the generation of discharge can be suppressed and a preferable display image can be obtained. A method of manufacturing an image display apparatus having an airtight container including a rear plate having a plurality of electron-emitting devices and a face plate which is located opposite to the rear plate and has a phosphor and an electroconductive film, includes the steps of, (A) disposing the rear plate having the plurality of electron-emitting devices and the face plate having the phosphor and the electroconductive film such that the rear plate and the face plate are opposite to each other and arranging a plurality of plate shaped spacers between the rear plate and the face plate to assemble the airtight container, and (B) applying an electric field between the rear plate and the face plate in a state that the airtight container is slanted such that a longitudinal direction of the plate-shaped spacers is not perpendicular to a gravitational direction.

摘要: The present invention relates to a cache mechanism of a browser apparatus as a World Wide Web (WWW) client and aims at the improvement of utilization efficiency and the shortening of an information acquisition delay time. A cache is constituted in an HDD or DVD-RAM under the control of a Web cache program. A copy of acquired information is stored in the cache. A directory of the cache is managed by a Web cache management table, and the control is made so that the writing of the cache contents and necessary entries of the management table is completed before the DVD-RAM is removed from the browser apparatus. A browsing work can be continued smoothly by loading the DVD-RAM to another browser apparatus. Also, if an information provider provides information in a form stored in a disk in the form of a Web cache, the browsing of the information becomes possible with the same URL as that in WWW access.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for reducing the total amount of memory required to implement a video decoder and to perform a scan conversion operation on decoded video are described. In accordance with the present invention this is accomplished by having an interlaced to progressive (I-P) conversion circuit utilize the same frame memory used to decode the images upon which a conversion operation is performed. In this manner, the images, e.g., frames, which are buffered in the decoder are utilized by both the decoder and I-P conversion circuit thereby eliminating the need for the I-P conversion circuit to be supported with an independent frame memory. Data included in a decoder's frame memories is used to detect moving image areas for purposes of the I-P conversion process. In a specific exemplary embodiment, one of three frames, which is nearest to a present frame, is referred for calculating frame difference signals. Both subsequent and preceding frames are used to detect motion for I-P conversion purposes. This approach eliminates the need for a separate frame memory for motion detection purposes. Using the above discussed memory saving techniques, I-P conversion can be performed in accordance with the present invention by sharing the anchor frame memories and B-frame buffer present in a conventional decoder for both decoding and I-P conversion.
