Abstract: The present invention provides apparatuses, methods, systems, computer programs, computer program products and computer-readable media for reducing overhead for Quality-of-service (QoS) monitoring of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) services. The method comprises receiving, at a user equipment, from a serving network, a request for a Quality-of-Service (QoS) monitoring session, making a first determination, at the user equipment, whether the user equipment is relevant for the request, based on the content of the request, making a second determination, at the user equipment, if it is determined in the first determination that the user equipment is relevant, whether the request is received in dedicated signaling or common signaling, deciding, at the user equipment, whether or not to initiate the requested QoS monitoring session based on the second determination.

Abstract: A source network apparatus (10) which provides access for a user equipment (30) to a communication network transmits (S102) a handover command to the user equipment (30), the handover command indicating a target network apparatus (20) for providing access for the user equipment (30) to the communication network, and a detach condition on when the user equipment (30) is to detach from the source network apparatus (10) after having accessed the target network apparatus (20) (S204) and received user plane data packets from the target network apparatus (20) (S205), wherein the source network apparatus (10) continues exchanging user plane data packets with the user equipment (30) (S101, S103) until the user equipment (30) detaches (S306) from the source network apparatus (10).

Abstract: An example embodiment relates to Random Access Channel, RACH, procedure, for example in the New Radio, NR. Random access procedures may be of two types, contention based CBRA and contention free, CFRA. A client device may only perform CBRA fallback when none of the reference signal received strengths, RSRPs, of the synchronization signal blocks, SSBs, which is associated with the CFRA resources is above a predefined threshold, T1. All SSBs and CSI-RS with associated CFRA resources may be below the threshold. Then, the client device may select an SSB or CSI-RS according to a predefined rule and perform CFRA when CFRA resources are associated. Devices, methods and computer programs are disclosed accordingly.

Abstract: A technique of performing a HO includes the source BS sending a HO resume message to the UE at the conclusion of a RACH access procedure that occurs in response to a HO command while a second TRX of the UE continues to exchange data packets with the source BS as if no HO command were issued. By continuing to exchange data with the source BS as if there were no HO command until the HO resume message reintroduces a RACH-less HO procedure, the interruption may be reduced to about 4 msec. At any point in time the UE handles only one protocol stack and only one security, which avoids the complexity of the advanced prior art methods.

Abstract: In accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform at least receiving, by a network device of a communication network, information providing an indication to connect to a network node of the communication network using a Random Access Channel (RACH)-less) signaling procedure; determining that connecting to the network node using the RACH-less signaling procedure has failed; and based on the RACH-less signaling procedure failing, using at least one alternative signaling procedure for connecting to the network node using uplink (UL) resources from RACH-less procedure. Further, in accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform based on a RACH-less signaling procedure from a network device failing to connect to a network node, receiving, by the network node, at least one alternative signaling procedure from the network device for the connecting; and establishing a connection with the network device based on the at least one alternative signaling procedure from the network device using the UL resources from RACH-less procedure.

Abstract: There are provided measures for enabling/realizing flexible and adaptive QoS monitoring for unicast/groupcast over sidelink communication, which may preferably be capable of enhancing support of unicast/groupcast services over sidelink communication. Such measures exemplarily comprise obtaining a request for QoS monitoring for unicast/groupcast over sidelink communication with a specified quality-of-service profile, which indicates at least one target QoS metric to be monitored, determining a QoS monitoring procedure, wherein a scheme for enforcing QoS monitoring over sidelink communication in collaboration with at least one unicast/groupcast receiving-side device is decided, and performing the QoS monitoring procedure, wherein QoS monitoring messages are exchanged with the at least one unicast/groupcast receiving-side device over the sidelink communication with the specified QoS profile in accordance with the decided scheme and the at least one target quality-of-service metric is derived based thereon.
