Abstract: In one novel aspect, a plurality of synchronization signal (SS) anchors within a block of a contiguous spectrum is configured in a wireless network. Each SS anchor is a primary SS anchor or a secondary SS anchor. The UE performs an initial access by detecting a first primary SS anchor and receives one or more virtual carrier configurations with corresponding SS anchors within the block of the contiguous spectrum. In another novel aspect, the UE performs an initial access through a first RF band with a first bandwidth and a first center frequency, receives a switching signal to switch from the first RF band to a second RF band with a second bandwidth and a second center frequency, the second bandwidth is different from the first bandwidth, and performs a RF bandwidth adaptation from the first RF band to the second RF band based on the adaptation signal.

Abstract: Examples pertaining to re-transmission cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for polar coding incremental-redundancy hybrid automatic repeat request (IR-HARQ) are described. An apparatus (e.g., UE) encodes a plurality of information bits using a polar code to generate a polar code block (CB). The apparatus performs one or more transmissions of the polar CB using hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) by performing an initial transmission of the polar CB and performing a re-transmission of the polar CB with a re-transmission cyclic redundancy check (ReTX CRC).

Abstract: Various examples with respect to synchronization signal block (SSB) raster shift in mobile communications are described. A processor of a user equipment (UE) performs an initial cell search to identify a cell among one or more cells of a wireless communication system. The processor then camps on the identified cell. In performing the initial cell search, the processor scans through a plurality of SSB entries for frequency bands below 3 GHz with a SSB raster spacing and a SSB raster offset frequency that support sub-carrier spacing (SCS) spaced channel raster and 100 kHz channel raster for both 15 kHz SCS and 30 kHz SCS. A minimum channel bandwidth at 5 MHz or higher for 15 kHz SCS or at 10 MHz or higher for 30 kHz SCS is supported. The SSB raster spacing is a common multiple of 15 kHz and 100 kHz. The SSB raster offset frequency for 100 kHz channel raster is a multiple of 30 kHz plus/minus 10 kHz.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus of resource allocation (RA) for low cost machine communication type (LC-MTC) user equipments (UEs) are provided. A UE obtains one or multiple sets of resources in a mobile communication network. Each set of resources belongs to a narrow sub-band in a wider channel bandwidth, wherein the narrow sub-band comprises a plurality of contiguous physical resource blocks (PRBs). The UE determines a first set of resources from the one or multiple sets of resources based on a physical layer control signaling and transmits or receives radio signals using the first set of resources within a predefined duration. In a coverage extension mode, the UE determines a second set of resources according to a hopping pattern, while the first and the second sets of resources are occupied for transmission at different radio subframes. The UE then transmits or receives radio signals using the second set of resources.
