Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas heat pump and a control method therefor and, according to the present invention, the method for controlling a gas heat pump, which comprises an ignition plug and a gas engine having an engine combustion unit including a plurality of combustion spaces, may include: a target setting step of setting a target ignition energy amount on the basis of a refrigerant load amount determined according to a driving condition of the gas heat pump; an ignition step of igniting fuel injected into the combustion spaces; a comparison step of comparing an output energy amount emitted in the ignition step with a target ignition energy amount set in the target setting step; and a step of changing an energy amount required to ignite the fuel when the output energy amount and the target ignition energy amount do not coincide in the comparison step.

Abstract: An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include at least one indoor device; an electric heat pump (EHP) outdoor device connected to the at least one indoor device, configured to drive a first compressor using electric power, and having a first outdoor heat exchanger for heat exchange of a refrigerant; a gas heat pump (GHP) outdoor device connected to the at least one indoor device, and having an engine configured to drive a second compressor using a burned gas, a second outdoor heat exchanger for heat exchange of the refrigerant, and a waste heat exchanger configured to exchange heat with the refrigerant using waste heat of the engine; and a low pressure refrigerant common pipe configured to connect the first outdoor heat exchanger with the second outdoor heat exchanger and to supply a low pressure refrigerant of the GHP outdoor device to the EHP outdoor device.

Abstract: An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include at least one indoor device, an electric heat pump (EHP) outdoor device connected to the at least one indoor device and having an EHP compressor driven using an applied current, and a gas heat pump (GHP) outdoor device connected to the at least one indoor device having an engine driven using a combustion of gas and a GHP compressor driven by receiving a driving force from the engine. The EHP compressor may include an inverter that controls a frequency of the current applied to the EHP compressor. The GHP compressor may include a first compressor that receives a driving force from the engine to compress a refrigerant; and a second compressor that is connected to the first compressor in parallel and receives the driving force from the engine to compress the refrigerant.

Abstract: An air conditioner is disclosed. The air conditioner includes an indoor unit, a first outdoor unit including a first outdoor heat exchanger and a first compressor to be driven by electricity, a second outdoor unit including a second outdoor heat exchanger and a second compressor to be driven by an engine, a cooling water line, through which cooling water to cool the engine flows, and at least one waste heat-recovering heat exchanger for exchanging heat between refrigerant to be introduced into at least one of the first outdoor heat exchanger and the second outdoor heat exchanger and the cooling water flowing through the cooling water line. By provision of the waste heat-recovering heat exchanger, which heat-exchanges hot cooling water with refrigerant flowing through the first and second outdoor heat exchangers, frost formed on the first and second outdoor units during low-temperature heating is removed. It is possible to cope with a wide range of heating loads while achieving high efficiency, using both the electric heat pump (EHP) system and the gas engine-driven heat pump (GHP) system.
