A heat dissipating device includes a chamber with an evaporation portion and a condensation portion, the chamber including a refrigerant. The chamber further includes an evaporation portion scraping brush provided corresponding to the evaporation portion, the evaporation portion scraping brush being able to sweep relative to an inner surface of the evaporation portion. A refrigerant liquid film is formed on the inner surface of the evaporation portion. Since the fluid refrigerant is uniformly applied to an inner surface of the evaporation portion to form a liquid film, the heat dissipating ability of the heat pipe heat dissipating device is improved, and the heat dissipating uniformity of the heat pipe heat dissipating device is enhanced. A heat dissipating method is also provided.

A system for estimating a strain of a component and method of estimating strain is provided. The system includes a signal generator configured to transmit a signal toward the component. A sensor is coupled to the component and configured to receive the signal and to generate a reflected signal. The system includes a fiber Bragg grating filter coupled to the sensor and configured to filter the reflected signal and to generate a filtered signal. A detector is coupled to the filter and configured to convert the filtered signal to a time domain signal. The system includes an artificial neural network coupled to the detector and configured to process the time domain signal to facilitate estimating the strain of the component.

Reducing traffic signal obstruction, through reproducing the contents of traffic signals, so the driver of a small vehicle blocked by a big vehicle also can be aware of the contents of traffic signals indicated by an obstructed traffic signal indicator. The system of reproducing traffic signals on a vehicle includes: a signal receiver, configured to receive the contents of traffic signals, wherein the contents of traffic signals is indicated by at least one traffic signal indicator; a signal processor, configured to determine whether to reproduce the received contents of traffic signals; and a reproducer, configured to reproduce the contents of traffic signals if it is determined to do so by the signal processor.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for determining leakage volume of fluid in transportation pipelines are provided. The method comprises: obtaining the negative pressure wave signals detected by at least two pressure sensors arranged on the pipeline; determining the pressure signal at the leakage location based on the negative pressure wave signals; determining the leakage rate during a leakage period based on the pressure signal at the leakage location according to a leakage model; and determining the leakage volume of the fluid in the pipeline based on the leakage rate and the leakage period. The apparatus provided corresponds to the method described above. By using the method and apparatus described above, the leakage volume of the transportation pipelines can be obtained to help understand the leakage profile of the pipelines and thus reduce losses.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for facilitating content-based image retrieval. A method may include determining a selected target image. The method may further include generating a candidate region of interest set including one or more regions of interest within the target image. The method may additionally include determining a recommended region of interest set including one or more recommended regions of interest selected from the candidate region of interest set based at least in part upon evaluation criteria. The evaluation criteria may be determined based at least in part upon analysis of maintained region of interest-based searching history. The method may also include providing the recommended region of interest set for user selection of one or more target regions of interest from the recommended region of interest set as query criteria for searching an image library for one or more result images. Corresponding apparatuses are also provided.

A fortified flashing laminate including a polymeric layer having an uncured portion and a cured portion forming a fortified area. The fortified area strengthens the flashing laminate at an area of known vulnerability or increased stress to prevent damage to the flashing laminate during installation and prior to curing of the remainder of the polymeric layer. The fortified flashing laminate may also include a layer of adhesive tape covering at least a portion of the bottom surface of the polymeric layer.
