    摘要: A tie-rod nut includes a nut base that extends between a first nut end and a second nut end, and a nut flange that extends radially outwards from the nut base at the first nut end. The nut base includes a nut bore with a threaded bore region that extends axially from the second nut end towards the first nut end. The nut flange includes a plurality of mounting apertures that are arranged circumferentially around the nut base. The nut flange may be connected to a substrate by a fastener that extends through a first one of the plurality of mounting apertures.

    摘要: An optical mirror is kinematically mounted at its sides on one fixed point and two movable points which points are supported by a frame spaced from the mirror. One of the movable points is a ball on a cantilevered arm which rests in a cone or groove in the mirror, the other movable point is a mechanical flexure prelaod mounting or a pneumatic preload mounting, which mountings serve to apply constant preload to such mirror. The mirror is made of ceramic material, of low thermal expansion or contraction and has water cooling passages therein. The frame is made of metal of higher thermal expansion or contraction. However such mirors, when reflecting a high intensity laser beam can thermally expand relative to the frame and must do so with minimal deformation from the desired optical contour thereof which result is accomplished by the resilient and constant preload mountings of the present invention. The preload mounting of the invention also serves to compensate for temperature differentials between the cooled ceramic mirror and its uncooled metal frame.

    摘要: A cooling apparatus bifurcates and regulates cooling airflow provided to a mid-turbine frame. The cooling apparatus includes a flow metering tube and a metering plate. The flow metering tube includes a top portion and a tube portion, wherein the top portion includes a first central aperture that directs a first cooling airflow into the tube portion and a first plurality of apertures located circumferentially around the central aperture that directs a second cooling airflow to a portion outside the tube portion. The metering plate is located on the top portion of the flow metering tube, wherein the metering plate includes a second central aperture aligned with the central aperture of the flow metering tube and a second plurality of apertures located circumferentially around the central aperture, wherein a size of the second central aperture meters the first cooling airflow and a size and number of the second plurality of apertures meters the second cooling airflow.

    摘要: A cooled exhaust duct for use in gas turbine engines is provided. The cooled exhaust duct includes an axial centerline, a circumference, an annulus, and a plurality of radially expandable bands. The annulus is disposed between a first wall and a second wall, and extends along the axial centerline. The first wall is disposed radially inside of the second wall. Each of the plurality of radially expandable bands extends circumferentially within the annulus. The bands are axially spaced apart from one another. Each band includes a first portion attached to the first wall, a second portion attached to the second wall and an intermediate portion connected to the first and second portions. The bands create circumferentially extending compartments that inhibit axial travel of the cooling air within the annulus.
