    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a signal transmission method, user equipment, and a base station. The method includes: determining a feature parameter of UE; and according to the feature parameter of the UE and a preset correspondence, determining a coverage enhancement technology used to transmit a first signal, and/or determining a second signal that the UE supports transmitting, and/or determining a function, supported by the UE, of a third signal. The present invention can optimize resource utilization of a system, decrease processing complexity, and reduce power consumption.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention, relating to the communications field, disclose a paging optimization method, apparatus, and system, so as to ensure that a terminal normally receives a paging message sent by a system. A specific solution carried by an access network node is: receiving a first paging message sent by a core network node, where the first paging message is used to page a terminal; in response to the first paging message, determining a transmission parameter according to channel loss information of the terminal; and sending control information with enhanced coverage to the terminal according to the transmission parameter, wherein the control information with enhanced coverage is used to schedule a second paging message with enhanced coverage. The present invention is used in a paging optimization process.

The uplink information transmission method includes: sending, by UE, first uplink information on a first frequency resource of a first subframe set; and sending, by the UE, second uplink information on a second frequency resource of a second subframe set, where the first frequency resource and the second frequency resource are frequency resources included in two different narrowbands; a radio frame in which a subframe in the first subframe set is located is different from a radio frame in which a subframe in the second subframe set is located, and any subframe included in the first subframe set and any subframe included in the second subframe set belong to different radio frames.

    Abstract: The application pertains to determining a rank of channel loss extent. A base station sends to a terminal a signaling indicating that there are N ranks of channel loss extent. Each rank has a corresponding number of random access preamble repetitions. The base station receives from the terminal device one or more transmissions of a random access preamble in a first number of repetitions of the random access preamble. The base station determines the rank of channel loss extent according to a random access preamble group in which the received random access preamble is located, or the first number of repetitions of the received random access preamble. A channel loss is a reference signal received power (RSRP). After determining the rank of channel loss extent, the base station determines a second number of repetitions corresponding to the determined rank of channel loss extent, for sending or receiving uplink/downlink information.
