Abstract: A data packet, that is to be transmitted in a dual connectivity (DC) or carrier aggregation (CA) based communications system, may include an indication to indicate whether the data packet is configured to be transmitted in a first frequency of a first carrier or a second frequency of a second carrier, and be transmitted, by a communication device, in the first frequency or the second frequency based on the indication. A data packet in the communications system may also be transmitted first in a first frequency higher than a second frequency, and then be retransmitted in the second frequency upon transmission failure of the data packet in the first frequency.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a data receiving status reporting method and apparatus. The method includes: determining, by first user equipment, a status of receiving at least one packet data convergence protocol layer protocol data unit PDCP PDU by second user equipment, where the at least one PDCP PDU is forwarded by the first user equipment to the second user equipment after being received by the first user equipment through a communications link between the first user equipment and a network device; and sending, by the first user equipment, a first status report to the network device, where the first status report is used to indicate the status of receiving the at least one PDCP PDU by the second user equipment.

Abstract: A data processing method and a terminal device and a base station. The method includes: the terminal device determines to change the type of at least one wireless carrier of the terminal device from a first type to a second type and discards a radio link control protocol RLC and/or an RLC service data unit buffered by a transmit side of an RLC entity of at least one radio bearer. The terminal device assembles an RLC protocol data unit received by a receive side of the RLC layer entity of at least one radio bearer into an RLC service data unit, and delivers the RLC service data unit to an upper layer entity of the RLC layer entity, where the upper layer entity is an upper layer entity of the RLC layer entity before the type of the at least on radio bearer is changed.

Abstract: A system information transmission method and apparatus are disclosed. A second terminal device sends identifier information, and a first terminal device obtains the identifier information sent by the second terminal device, where the identifier information includes a first cell identifier, and the first cell identifier is a cell identifier of a camped-on cell or a serving cell that is accessed before a direct link between the second terminal device and the first terminal device is established.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a path switching method and a related device. The method includes: receiving, by a base station, a first message sent by first user equipment, where the first message is used to request to switch the first user equipment from a non-direct path for communicating with the base station by using second user equipment to a direct path communicating with the base station; and sending, by the base station, a second message to the first user equipment, where the second message is used to instruct the first user equipment to perform path switching, and the second message includes at least one of a timing advance, a closed-loop power control value, and an uplink grant configuration. Therefore, service continuity in a path switching process is maintained, and service quality is improved.

Abstract: Example handover methods and devices in an ultra-dense network are disclosed. One example method includes the following operations. A source base station sends a first message to a target base station, where the first message carries an arrival time indication of a terminal, and the arrival time indication is used to indicate a time at which or a time range in which the terminal is to access the target base station. The source base station receives a second message fed back by the target base station, where the second message carries a granted resource that is allocated for the arrival time indication of the terminal. The source base station adds the granted resource to a command message, and sends the command message to the terminal.
