Abstract: A system for mitigating thermal runaway in a battery-powered electric vehicle (EV). The system includes a gas sensor configured to measure a level of at least one type of gas in a vicinity of a battery of the EV, a thermal event detector configured to determine, based on the measured level of the at least one type of gas, that the battery is experiencing out-gassing, and a communications interface configured to transmit an alert to a fleet management system regarding the out-gassing of the battery. The fleet management system alters an assignment of the EV in response to the out-gassing of the battery.

Abstract: The present technology is effective to cause at least one processor to instruct an autonomous vehicle to navigate a specific course and to record diagnostic measurements while navigating the specific course, receive the diagnostic measurements from the autonomous vehicle, and analyze the diagnostic measurements from the autonomous vehicle in a context provided by a collection of diagnostic measurement data collected from a fleet of similar autonomous vehicles navigating the specific course.

Abstract: A light inspection system positions an autonomous vehicle (AV) in a field of view of a camera such that the camera captures an image of a light of the AV. The light inspection system instructs a camera to capture an image of the light while the light is switched on. The light inspection system receives the captured image, determines a luminance of the light based on the image, and determines to service the light in response to the luminance of the light being below a threshold luminance.
