One or more data payload-conveying wireless stations rely on the control wireless station to provide control information to a mobile communication device to control conveyance of data over one or more data channels to the mobile communication device. For example, to connect to a remote network, a mobile communication device establishes a first wireless communication link with the control wireless station. The mobile communication device establishes a second wireless communication link with a data conveying wireless station. The first wireless link conveys control information from the control wireless station to the mobile communication device. The second wireless link conveys data payload information. The control information conveyed over the first wireless link controls conveyance of the data payload information over the second wireless communication link.

    摘要: A communication management resource detects or anticipates occurrence of wireless interference on a wireless channel allocated to a wireless base station to communicate with multiple communication devices. In response to the detected wireless interference, the communication management resource determines a group of the multiple communication devices receiving data of a particular type from the wireless base station. To reduce the wireless interference, the wireless base station notifies the communication devices in the group to operate in a device-to-device communication mode as an alternative path of conveying the particular type of data to the group of communication devices. Thus, during times of wireless interference, instead of communicating a message to each of the wireless communication device in the group, the wireless base station communicates a wireless communication to a first communication device in the group; the first communication device forwards the communication to a second communication device in the group.

    摘要: Customer equipment establishes a wireless connection with a first wireless base station in a network environment. The first wireless base station is operative to provide the customer equipment wireless connectivity to a remote network. The customer equipment detects presence of a second wireless base station in the network environment. In response to detecting a condition such as that the first wireless base station is unable to provide a satisfactory level of communication quality to the customer equipment, the customer equipment initiates a handoff of the customer equipment to the second wireless base station via a communication to the first wireless base station. The communication mispresents a power level associated with receiving the wireless signals from the second wireless base station. The indicated power level prompts the first wireless base station to handoff the customer equipment to the second wireless base station.

    摘要: According to one configuration, an example communication system includes a primary wireless station, multiple candidate wireless stations, and a remote network. The primary wireless station is in communication with one or more of the multiple candidate wireless stations. During operation, when the primary wireless station needs to provide one or more communication devices access to a remote network, the primary wireless station monitors presence of the multiple candidate wireless stations. Each of the multiple candidate wireless stations is available to support a wireless backhaul link from the primary wireless station to a remote (such as a core) network. The primary wireless station is operable to select an appropriate candidate wireless station amongst the multiple candidate wireless stations. Via the selected candidate wireless station, the primary wireless station establishes a backhaul link to the remote network.
