    Abstract: The invention relates to the streaming of media data representing a capturing projection of a wide view of a scene, the streamed media data making it possible to render the wide view on a 3D geometric display surface or to render the wide view on a display surface according to different viewpoints, the rendering comprising rendering projection of media data. After having received a description file including information on the media data, the information comprising descriptive information relating to the capture of the wide view for producing the media data, request messages to request media data streams based on the description file are sent to the server. In response to the request messages, media data corresponding to the requested media data streams are received.

    Abstract: At least one embodiment of a method for encapsulating media data as fragments, each fragment comprising metadata and media data, the metadata describing encapsulation of the media data. After having obtained second media data to be encapsulated within a second fragment and second metadata describing encapsulation of the second media data, it is determined whether some of the second metadata are identical to some of first metadata belonging to a first fragment and describing encapsulation of first media data within the first fragment. If it is the case and if the second fragment is not to be parsed independently, the second media data and a portion of the second metadata are encapsulated within the second fragment, the second fragment further comprising an indication to signal that the metadata part of the second fragment comprises only a portion of the metadata required to parse the media data of the second fragment.

    Abstract: According to embodiments, the invention provides a method for encapsulating partitioned timed media data comprising timed samples, comprising in turn subsamples, the timed samples being grouped into groups, the method comprising: obtaining spatial tracks, each spatial track comprising at least one subsample of a first timed sample and one corresponding subsample of the other timed samples, the corresponding subsamples being located at the same spatial position in its own timed sample as the at least one subsample; creating a base track referencing at least some of the spatial tracks, the base track comprising reconstruction instructions, each of the reconstruction instructions being associated with a group of timed samples, enabling generating a portion of a bit-stream from sub-samples of spatial tracks, that belong to a same group of timed samples; and independently encapsulating each of the tracks in a least one media file.
