In one embodiment described herein, a device having an account permitting access to network-based storage, receives a push notification indicating that one or more assets has been shared by another person. In response to the push notification, the device begins downloading the new asset to the device, while starting two timers. When the first timer finishes, the user is notified about the new asset that is available. When the second timer finishes, the download, if still in progress, is interrupted to save power.

An image editing user interface, displayed by a computer system, for editing a sequence of images (e.g., an enhanced digital image), includes an affordance for turning on, or off, animated playback of the sequence of images, while retaining the sequence of images. While animated playback is turned off, a representative image from the sequence of images is displayed.

In response, an operating mode is selected based on the region and a current context of the device. The operating mode is configurable by a user, including setting geofence parameters, context parameters and operating mode parameters.

Systems and method for allowing an identifier value associated with a computing device, and that is delivered to content providers when requesting content, to be altered from that of the unique identifier value associated with the computing device. A computing device will include user interface elements that allow a user to request a new identifier on-demand. In some cases, the user can also configure the computing device to obtain a new identifier value in response to other actions at the computing device or automatically when some type of usage criteria is met. The identifier value is configured to be substantially unique and to be different than a unique identifier associated with the computing device to provide anonymity for the user.

An electronic device that includes a touch-sensitive surface stores a plurality of sequences of images. The device displays a first representative image for a first sequence of images in a movable first area on a display. The device detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface, the gesture including movement by a contact that corresponds to movement in a first direction on the display. In response to detecting the gesture on the touch-sensitive surface: the device moves the first area in the first direction on the display; moves a movable second area in the first direction on the display; and, in accordance with a determination that sequence-display criteria are met, displays, in chronological order in the second area, at least some images for a second sequence of images acquired by the camera before acquiring a second representative image for the second sequence of images.

Some embodiments provide a method that displays a document that includes several glyphs on a touch screen display. The method receives a touch input on the touch screen display to activate a zoom tool enabling location of a position indicator within a set of associated glyphs. The method automatically divides a touch screen region for the set of associated glyphs into sub-regions. Each sub-region is associated with a position indicator location between two subsequent glyphs. A first sub-region associated with a location between first and second glyphs has a same width as a second sub-region associated with a location between the second glyph and a third glyph. The first and third glyphs do not have an equal width. The method correlates movement of the touch input across the touch screen display with the equally-spaced sub-regions in order to move the position indicator between the glyphs in the associated set.
