    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for streaming immersive content to a device. This may be accomplished by a system displaying a piece of media on a display in a first format and determining that the piece of media is approaching a segment of the piece of media that is available in a second format (e.g., light field content). In response to determining that the upcoming segment is available in the second format, the system can use one or more sensors to determine a position of a user in relation to the display. The system can then send a request for the piece of media in the second format, wherein the request comprises the position of the user. The system can then receive and display the segment of the piece of media in the second format, wherein the segment is customized according to the position of the user.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing preliminary health care screening using a head-mounted display to provide preliminary health care screening for some conditions and diseases that manifest symptoms in the eyes or in the ocular facial region around the eyes through interaction with an analysis agent. The head-mounted display is worn by a wearer and receives imaging instructions from an analysis agent. The head-mounted display generates screening images of the eyes and the ocular facial region of the wearer based upon the imaging instructions. The screening images are transmitted to the analysis agent, and in response, the head-mounted display receives further imaging instructions from the analysis agent. The further imaging instructions may include parameters for generating more images, a suggestion to contact a health care professional, and/or if pre-approved, notice that a referral has already been made to a health care professional.

    Abstract: A virtual display visible via extended reality equipment (XR equipment) is controlled by user input to a physical controller that also controls a physical display. The physical controller may be a keyboard, a trackpad, a mouse, a joystick, a gaming controller, gaming console, or an appliance remote controller. The virtual display may be generated by a movement of a graphical user interface element on the physical display beyond a display area of the physical display or in other ways. The virtual display may be anchored to the physical display so as to move in response to movement of the physical device. A second virtual display may be similarly generated in response to further user input via the physical device and may be automatically positioned so as to be visible via the XR equipment on a same vertical plane or arc as the first virtual display.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for providing a system to reconfigure a user's access network to provide varying quality of service (QOS) based on flow identification. For example, a policy server (PS) may transmit a plurality of addresses of virtual private network (VPN) servers associated with a priority status to a cable modem (CM) and/or cable modem termination system (CMTS) associated with a client device. The CMTS may notify the PS when the CM and/or CMTS detects VPN traffic between the client device and a VPN server associated with the priority status. In response to the notification, the PS may transmit an update message to the CMTS, wherein the update message comprises an updated configuration. The updated configuration may be used to update the CM and/or CMTS so that the updated CM and/or CMTS process future data packets according to an updated QoS policy.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneously being present in multiple extended reality (XR) apps running on the same XR device are disclosed. The methods concurrently run multiple XR apps on the user's XR device and use an avatar to represent the user's presence in each app. The methods determine whether the user is actively present in a first app or a second app. When the user is not actively present in a first app, activity in the first app is monitored, the avatar is configured to provide auto-responses based on AI, ML, or preprogrammed responses for relevant queries to simulate the user's presence. Notifications and summary of the activities in the first app are provided to the user while they are actively present in the second app. Instead of rendering the first app, back-end simulations of the activities in the first app are processed and made available when rendering is resumed.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining metrics relating to an extended reality experience and using the obtained metrics to perform remedial actions, such as managing user motion sickness, determining user performance relating to a designed game difficulty, and performing home automation are disclosed. The methods include determining a starting and ending checkpoint in an extended reality experience. Data from a plurality of users as they navigate between the determined checkpoints is obtained and used to determine a metric, such as a median, average, or other representative data. The current user's navigation through the same checkpoints is monitored and compared with the metric. The results from the comparison are used to enhance extended reality experience, which includes customizing the experience for motion sickness, game difficulty level, and home automation.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for guaranteeing end-to-end QoS for wireless connections over a cable network are disclosed. Provisioning of on-demand guaranteed bandwidth connection over a cable network uses mechanisms from DOCSIS domain and Wi-Fi domain. A multi-domain orchestrator is implemented to control both domains. A bandwidth request is received from a client device connecting to a network service provider access point. The bandwidth request is updated for both domains with results of speed test of the wireless link if the speed test results are lower than the bandwidth request. The orchestrator and client device negotiate the bandwidth request using a three-way handshake over PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) protocol. If the available bandwidth on either the DOCSIS or wireless link is less than the bandwidth request, the orchestrator generates a new bandwidth offer. If the client device accepts the offer, the orchestrator configures the DOCSIS and wireless links using their respective domain protocols to provision the connection with guaranteed end-to-end bandwidth.

    Abstract: A first plurality of content items available from a first content service is identified, and a second plurality of content items not available from the first content service but related to the first plurality of content items is also identified. An order in which to play back content items from both the first plurality of content items and the second plurality of content items is determined. A first content item from the first plurality of content items is then played back. Based on the order, a second content item from the second plurality of content items is identified for playback next and is automatically played back from the second content service. At the conclusion of the entire order of content item, the user may be returned to a user interface of the first content service or the content service from which playback of content items was initiated.
