摘要: A mobile communications network includes a core network including infrastructure equipment, and a radio network including plural base stations configured to provide a wireless access interface for communicating data to/from communications terminals. One base station can operate as a serving base station to one of the communications terminals, to establish one or more communications bearers for communicating user data to/from the communications terminal via the core network and the radio network, and co-operate with at least another of the base stations to communicate the user data to/from the communications terminal. The mobile communications network can monitor a state of a radio communications channel between the co-operating base station and the communications terminal, and upon predetermined conditions, establish a communications bearer from the core network to the co-operating base station for communicating the user data to the co-operating base station for transmitting the user data to the communications terminal.

摘要: A telecommunications system including plural base stations and plural terminal devices communicating over a radio interface having a radio frame structure including radio subframes each including plural symbols. At least one symbol in each radio subframe is used to support a physical shared channel and at least one symbol in each radio subframe is used to support a physical control channel associated with the physical shared channel. A symbol at the end of each radio subframe is used to support the physical shared channel for communication links between a base station and a terminal device operating in a full-duplex mode, but the corresponding symbol is used to support a separate physical channel, for example an additional low-rate channel, for communication links operating in a half-duplex mode. Thus, transmission resources that would normally be idle in a half-duplex system compared to a full-duplex system can be re-used for another channel.

摘要: A method of communicating data between a base station and a plurality of terminal devices in a wireless telecommunications system is described. The method comprises transmitting data from the base station to the plurality of terminal devices in a multicast transmission and transmitting response signals from the terminal devices to the base station to indicate whether or not the respective terminal devices have successfully received the multicast transmission. The use of a multicast transmission provides an efficient mechanism for communicating the same data to a plurality of terminal device, for example as might be desired in a machine-type communication network. In combination with this, the use of individual response signals, such as ACK/NACK signalling, from the terminal devices allows the base station, or other entity, to track which terminal devices have indicated successful receipt of the multicast transmission, and to instigate an appropriate re-transmission protocol accordingly.

摘要: A mobile telecommunications system including mobile terminals of first type and second type configured to transmit uplink data to a network over a radio interface using plural sub-carriers. The mobile terminals of first type configured to transmit uplink data on a first group of the sub-carriers over a first bandwidth and the mobile terminals of second type configured to transmit uplink data on a second group of the sub-carriers within the first group of sub-carrier over a second bandwidth smaller than the first bandwidth. The mobile terminals of first type transmit random access request messages to a base station of the network requesting uplink radio resources on a first random access channel. The mobile terminals of second type transmit random access request messages to the base station of the network requesting uplink radio resources on a second random access channel on sub-carriers within the second sub-carrier group.

摘要: An infrastructure equipment for forming part of a mobile radio network includes a transmit and receive unit, to transmit and receive data to and from mobile communications devices via a wireless access interface, and a controller processing requests for communications resources from the mobile communications devices. Plural associated communications devices are arranged to form a group, and each of the associated communications devices of the group includes a same common identifier, with respect to which communications sessions can be established to communicate data via the mobile radio network, and the controller is arranged in combination with the transmit and receive unit to respond to a request from one of the communications devices of the group to establish a communications bearer using the common identifier.

摘要: A communications terminal communicates data to/from a mobile communications network. The mobile communications network includes a radio network including one or more base stations configured to provide a low bandwidth communications interface formed from a low bandwidth carrier for communicating the data to or receiving the data from the communications terminal in accordance with a relatively low bandwidth, and to provide a high bandwidth communications interface formed from a high bandwidth carrier for communicating the data to or receiving the data from the communications terminal in accordance with a relatively high bandwidth. The communications terminal is configured to attach for communication to the high bandwidth interface, and in response to receiving a command from the mobile communications network, to detach from the high bandwidth interface and to re-attach to the low bandwidth interface for communicating the data to or from the mobile communications network via the low bandwidth interface.
