Abstract:
A DC-DC converter includes a switching stage and a control circuit coupled to provide an accurate current limit for peak current mode for the DC-DC converter. The control circuit is operative to provide a peak value of the peak current mode.
Abstract:
This specification describes technologies relating to content presentation. In general, one aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods that include the actions of receiving data from a plurality of users within a geographic region associated with a location; analyzing the received data to derive a category for the location; annotating the location with the category; and using the category to boost candidate content items for delivery to users in the location in response to future content item requests.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the recombinant production of proteins as well as VLPs which are suitable as a vaccine for therapeutic and prophylactic vaccination. The invention also relates to processes for the production and purification of recombinant papilloma virus proteins and fusion proteins.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for restoring budding capability to GP64null baculoviruses including gp64null AcMNPV by expressing therein a portion of the VSV G protein gene or a truncated “stem” portion of the GP64 gene. Other embodiments provide methods to use portions of the G-stem or GP64 protein to target foreign proteins for display on virions.
Abstract:
A method of making a genetically modified mammalian cell, the method including selecting a first codon of a parent polynucleotide that encodes a polypeptide for replacement with a synonymous codon, wherein the synonymous codon is selected on the basis that it exhibits a higher translational efficiency in a first type of mammalian cell than the first codon in a comparison of translational efficiencies of codons in cells of the first type, replacing the first codon with the synonymous codon to form a synthetic polynucleotide, and introducing the synthetic polynucleotide into a mammalian cell to produce the genetically modified mammalian cell.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method, an apparatus, and a system for synchronizing time, and relates to communication technologies. The method includes: receiving a time synchronization signal which includes a One Pulse Per Second (1PPS) and an absolute time data; and sending the time synchronization signals to the client through a wired medium to synchronize time. The apparatus includes a receiving module and a sending module. The system includes a time synchronization apparatus and a client. Time synchronization is implemented through an existing wired medium between base stations to accomplish μs-level time synchronization between indoor base stations without extra cabling.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a display film stack for a backlight display system. In one embodiment, the display system comprises: a light source, a first film comprising a first surface texture layer that is formed of a first material of a first refractive index, and a second film comprising a second surface texture layer that is formed of a second material of a second refractive index. The second film is disposed between the light source and the first film. The second refractive index is greater than the first refractive index. The light source is disposed in optical communication with the first film and the second film. The first surface texture layer and the second surface texture layer comprise unit structures independently selected from the group consisting of hemispherical structures, partial hemispherical structures, ellipsoidal structures, immersed spherical beads, ellipsoidal beads, “bell-shape” bump and complex lens shape structures.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a novel flexible, modular fabrication method for integrated high aspect ratio single crystal silicon microstructures designed and manufactured in a post conventional CMOS process (Post-CMOS). The method involves the standard circuits formation, the electrical isolation trenched etching and refilling, backside etching, interconnection formation, and structure releasing. Further, a method of tailoring the trench profile for refill the trench fully without void is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for selecting a coding mode are described. For example, the method receives at least one block of a signal to be encoded. The method determines a frame vertical pixel difference in the at least one block and determines a field vertical pixel difference in the at least one block. The method then compares the frame vertical pixel difference with the field vertical pixel difference to determine a first coding mode for the at least one block.
