Abstract:
A printing system includes a printer and computers connected by an network. A mail server is provided for transmitting notification data from the printer to the computers in the form of an email message. Print data stored in the printer is erased once the print data has been used for reprint operations a certain amount of times. If the amount of print data stored in the printer exceeds a reference size, then print data sets are selected for erasure based on predetermined conditions. Data stored in the printer can be retrieved from the printer and amended at the computer.
Abstract:
In a mail reception side, it is judged in S994 whether or not the number of sheets required to print the received print mail becomes equal to or higher than a prescribed number. This judgment is performed based on the mail header added to the print mail. When the number of sheets to be printed with the print mail is equal to or higher than the prescribed number, the print data included in the print mail is compacted so that one-fourth the amount of printing paper will be needed. Thus, even if print mail containing a large number of pages for printing is received, the printing side can adjust the number of pages, into which the print mail is printed, without deleting the contents of the print mail. Accordingly, the time required for printing is also reduced to one-fourth the time required for printing at the original ax state. Hence, even if print mail containing a large number of pages for printing is received at an unexpected time, the time required for printing is automatically reduced. As a result, the printer on the receiving end is not occupied for long periods of time printing unimportant mail that can delay the printing of more important documents.
Abstract:
A print system capable of exchanging data in the form of electronic mail between a plurality of computer systems using very low-cost communication via the Internet 28, rather than one-on-one communication. When the printer driver 30 of a personal computer 4 selects a personal computer 10 on another computer system as the destination for transmitting print data, the printer driver 30 and the print mail transmission utility 31a create print mail in which a mail header including print information is added to the print data for the contents of the mail, and the print mail is transmitted via the Internet 28 addressed to the personal computer 10. The print mail reception utility 31b of the personal computer 10 receives the print mail and prints the print mail on a printer 14 based on the print information included in the mail header.
Abstract:
An equalizer includes first and second differential amplifiers which have a common output and respective separate current sources, a first negative feed back circuit which feeds back a voltage signal extracted from the common output to the first differential amplifier, a second negative feed back circuit which feeds back the voltage signal to the second differential amplifier, and a filter circuit which is provided at either the first or the second negative feed back circuit and which differentiates frequency characteristics during signal amplification in the first and second differential amplifiers. A frequency characteristic is selected through selection of one of the current values of the respective current sources in response to a sound quality adjusting signal.
Abstract:
A power amplifier of a digital cassette tape reproducing device is set to a value suitable to amplify an amplitude level of an audio signal from an analog signal reproducing system thereof and, when a digital signal reproducing system is selected, an audio signal therefrom is supplied to the power amplifier circuit without attenuation while increasing an amount of negative feedback of the power amplifier circuit, hence reducing amplification thereof to match an output level of the power amplifier circuit with that of the analog signal reproducing system to thereby improve S/N ratio and maintain high tone quality of the digital source.
Abstract:
A paper feeding apparatus for the printer having an intermittent mechanism between a driving motor and both a paper feed roller and a platen. The intermittent mechanism allows both the platen and the paper feed roller to rotate simultaneously and also allows only the platen to rotate while the paper feed roller is suspended, so that a sheet of printing paper is set straight along the platen. When the rotational direction of the driving motor is reversed to reverse that of the platen, the driving motor stops rotating for a limited period. Under such conditions the sheet is fed properly in response to the rotation of the platen, being free from the inertia force of the sheet and from the platen's vibration.
Abstract:
A network system includes printers as terminals interconnected via a network. Each of the printers can obtain information on the others, and transmit the obtained information together with information on itself to a browser computer as a controller. Therefore, by obtaining the information only from one of the printers, the computer can obtain together with it the information on the others. In this system, it is possible to obtain the information on the printers efficiently without using a server computer.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a printing unit that performs a printing operation; a printing possibility determination unit that determines whether printing is possible, at the time of starting the printing operation; a printing stop unit that stops the printing operation, when the printing possibility determination unit determines that printing is impossible; a notification unit that notifies an error, when the printing operation is stopped; a notification time counting unit that counts a period in which an error is notified; a notification release unit that releases error notification, when the period in which an error is notified by the notification unit is counted for a predetermined time; and a stopped state reset unit that returns a stopped state of the printing unit whose printing operation is stopped, to a standby state before the printing unit performs the printing operation, when notification of an error is released.

Abstract:
A printing system that includes: a printing condition command receiving unit that receives a primary printing condition command, the primary condition command being included together with printing image data in printing control data; printing condition command converting unit that converts the primary printing condition command to a secondary printing condition command corresponding to a printing apparatus; and a printing apparatus that carries out processing related to printing the printing image data based on the secondary printing condition command.
