    摘要: An information handling system may include at least one processor; and a non-transitory memory coupled to the at least one processor. The information handling system may be a node of an information handling system cluster may be configured to be imaged while the node is operational within the information handling system cluster by: a node installation service executing on the node creating a partition on a storage medium of the node; the node installation service receiving an image bundle from a remote information handling system via a network and storing the image bundle on the partition; and the node installation service causing the node to reboot, wherein the rebooting is configured to install a new version of a management system to the node from the image bundle.

    摘要: Disclosed methods include sending, from a resource manager, network configuration information to each of one or more managed resources. The network configuration information may include an IP address for the resource manager, an IP address for each of the managed resources, and a predetermined timeout value. Network configurations for the resource manager and the one or more managed resources may then be set after which each managed resource may start a timer with the predetermined timeout value. If the resource manager detects successful completion of each of the network configuration operations, the resource manager may send a stop timer command to each of the managed resources. If a timeout occurs, the timeout will inform each of the managed resources that the change in network configuration was not entirely successful. The resource manager and each of the managed resources will then restore their network configurations to their previous configurations.

    摘要: A disclosed method for implementing containers in an information handling system generates, with a first non-privileged container, a request that is sent to a RESTful API. Whenever the API identifies a request requiring host access the API launches a second container, which is configured to operate in a privileged execution mode. The second container accesses the host and executes the requested actions. When the request completes, the first container resumes non-privileged execution, thereby confining privileged mode execution to a container that is only active during host interaction. The host access can be access required to: exchange data with the host, query the host for hardware information, and modify host configuration. The host may be implanted within a device featuring an HCI infrastructure. In one configuration, the host resides of one of multiple distinct nodes of an HCI appliance.

    摘要: An information handling system may include a processor and first non-transitory computer-readable media communicatively coupled to the processor and having stored thereon a basic input/output system (BIOS) core comprising BIOS core firmware sufficient to execute features of a BIOS of the information handling system to a particular portion of BIOS execution and an extension agent. The extension agent may be configured to identify and enumerate a firmware volume of a second non-transitory computer-readable media communicatively coupled to the processor and having stored thereon a BIOS extension comprising BIOS extension firmware for executing completion of BIOS execution from the particular portion of BIOS execution and in response to unavailability of the firmware volume of the second non-transitory computer-readable media, failover to and recover the BIOS extension from extended firmware information stored on a networked storage resource communicatively coupled to the information handling system.
