Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify and schedule a set of bits in the physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) for transmission of feedback for downlink transmissions occurring after transmission of the uplink grant scheduling the PUSCH. After receiving the uplink grant, a user equipment (UE) may receive control channel (PDCCH) transmissions that schedule downlink transmissions. The UE may monitor for and generate feedback for the downlink transmission. The UE may then utilize the bits indicated by the UL grant to transmit the feedback. In some examples, the UE may determine whether the indicated bits are adequate to transmit the feedback for the later downlink transmissions. When the UE determines that the extra bits are not adequate (e.g., there are not enough bits), then the UE may determine to transmit the feedback separate from the PUSCH resources scheduled by the uplink grant.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for allowing for the coexistence of legacy and non-legacy PUCCH formats. An example method generally includes generating a first orthogonal sequence for a first payload for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) to be transmitted; generating a second orthogonal sequence for a second payload for the PUCCH to be transmitted; mapping the first orthogonal sequence to a first set of virtual resources and the second orthogonal sequence to a second set of virtual resources; mapping the first set of virtual resources to a first set of physical resources and the second set of virtual resources to a second set of physical resources; and transmitting the first and second payloads for the PUCCH on the first and second sets of physical resources.

Abstract: A transmitting device applies a first MCS to a first set of data tones that overlaps with a first set of PRTs within a plurality of tones, the first set of PRTs being associated with a first PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device applies a second MCS to a second set of data tones that overlaps with a second set of PRTs within the plurality of tones, the second set of PRTs being associated with a second PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device can transmit a transmission signal comprising the first set of data tones and the second set of data tones, the transmission signal using a waveform based at least in part on the first PAPR reduction signal and the second PAPR reduction signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, an operator may utilize the duplexing gap as a second downlink channel for an operator that has an uplink channel next to the guard. an operator may utilize the duplexing gap as a second uplink channel for an operator that has a downlink channel next to the guard. In some examples, a new block may be added for an operator (e.g., the first operator, the second operator, or a third and distinct operator). The new block may include an uplink channel and a downlink channel (which are adjacent to respective uplink and downlink channels for other operators, hence avoiding additional interference). A new block may be added for an operator (e.g., the first operator, the second operator, or a third and distinct operator), which may be subdivided in time, frequency, or both.
