Abstract:
Novel tools and techniques to enable video enhancements identifying the calling party of an incoming telephone call. In an aspect of some such tools, a video message from the calling party is sent to the receiving party through a communication channel in the provider network. Upon receiving an incoming telephone call at the provider network, the video message can be associated with the incoming telephone call, and routed to a set-top unit (also referred to herein as a “set-top box”) associated with the receiving party. The set-top unit might communicate with a visual display screen (e.g., a television), and/or cause the visual display screen to show the video message for the receiving party as an indication of the incoming telephone call and identification of the calling party.
Abstract:
We describe a method of synchronising a teleconference comprising audio carried on a telephone network and a digital data stream carried on a computer network. Audio at a first node is characterised to determine audio characterising data. A digital data stream for the teleconference is also input at the first node and the audio characterising data is inserted into the digital data stream and forwarded over the network. The audio and digital data streams are received separately at a second node of the system, and the audio characterising data is extracted from the digital data stream and processed in conjunction with the received audio to determine a first-second node time offset. The audio and digital data streams are then synchronising by adjusting, for example, a relative time delay of the received audio and digital streams at the second node responsive to the determined time offset.
Abstract:
A method for arranging an agent of a call center includes: receiving a video call request sent by a user, and determining an agent capable of providing a service for the user according to the video call request; calculating video quality of the agent capable of providing a service for the user, and obtaining a requirement of the user corresponding to the video call request; if the calculated video quality of the agent meets the requirement of the user, allocating the agent with the video quality meeting the requirement of the user to the user; otherwise, putting the user into a queue for queuing.
Abstract:
A system downloads a video from a remote server to a local server residing on a mobile device. The video is packaged in a first protocol, where the first protocol is selected based on a preferred download compatibility associated with the mobile device and the remote server. The system converts, on the local server, the video packaged in the first protocol to a video packaged in a second protocol. The second protocol is selected based on a capability of a video controller, residing on the mobile device, to render the video using the second protocol. The system transmits the video packaged in the second protocol from the local server to the video controller. Using the video controller, the system renders the video packaged in the second protocol on the mobile device.
Abstract:
We describe a system for automatic setup of an audio/computer teleconference. The system comprises node units each having a phone connection, a telephone network connection, at least one computer network connection; and a system control server. The node unit comprises code to: transmit an outgoing audio announce message into a potential conference call via said telephone network audio connection, identifying the node unit; receive via the network audio connection an incoming audio announce message from a conference call to which the node unit is already connected; determine from the incoming message, an identifier for a remote node unit connecting to the conference call; and transmit to the server, via the computer network, identifiers for the local and remote node units. The server comprises code to: receive the node unit identifiers and provide computer equipment connection data to computer equipment at node.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems, methods and computer program products for providing functionality to users during a hold period prior to conducting a customer-service video conference. In specific embodiments of the present invention, the user is able to exit the video conferencing application during the hold period and be subsequently notified when the hold period is about to end and the video conference about to start. Such exiting of the video conference application and subsequent notification of the imminence of the video conference, allows for the user to perform other functions/execute other applications on the device while being assured that the user will have opportunity to conduct the video conference when the user's position in the hold period queue indicates they are next in line for conducting the video conference.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product for protecting privacy of a customer and an agent using face recognition in a video contact center environment is presented. A video call is initiated by a customer to a contact center. The customer video is muted while audio of the customer is provided to an agent of the contact center. A determination is made regarding whether a face is present in a video image of the customer. When a presence of a face is determined in the video image of the customer, then video of the customer is enabled. When a presence of a face is not present in the video image of the customer then the customer is notified so the customer can take appropriate action.
Abstract:
A system, method and computer program product having instructions stored thereon for automatically data streaming a multiparty conference session comprises receiving an Internet-based interface at a session moderator, said Internet-based interface configured for said session moderator to enter a request for data streaming a multiparty conference session, automatically establishing a data stream of said conferencing session, without any human intervention, wherein establishing said automated data stream includes: recording the multiparty conference session, and data streaming the multiparty conference session to listen-only participants thereby enabling listen-only participants to connect to the multiparty conference session without using additional conference ports and/or conference resources.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a control method for a display apparatus and a mobile terminal which includes a camera for taking a photograph and generating an image; a voice input unit which is used to input a voice; a user input unit which receives a user's input; a display unit which displays the image thereon; a wireless communication unit which communicates with a counterpart mobile terminal through a wireless network; and a controller which performs a video call by transmitting to the counterpart mobile terminal video call data comprising a video generated by the camera and a voice input by the voice input unit according user input, displays on the display unit a shared image during the video call, and transmits to the counterpart mobile terminal the shared image added to the video call data.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for providing continuous presence video stream in a cascading video conference, i.e., a video conference that is conducted over more than one MCU. A cascading continuous presence composition controller (CCCC) selects which endpoints from among all of the endpoints participating in the conference should be displayed in the layout, regardless of which endpoints are associated with which MCU. The CCCC can be resident on one of the MCUs, resident on a cascading conference server, or can be distributed among all of the MCUs involved in a cascading conference.
