    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a first device may be in communication with a second device and may receive, from the second device, DCI in a downlink control channel and a message in a downlink shared channel. The message in the downlink shared channel may include an indication of a system information update that is relevant to the first device and may include information relating to one or more system information parameters that are updated. The first device may determine the system information update based on the DCI and the indication in the message and may acquire system information accordingly. The first device may update the system information of the first device based on the acquired system information update and may communicate with the second device using the updated system information.

    Abstract: Handling of listen before talk (LBT) failures during radio resource control (RRC) procedures is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to monitor for consistent uplink and downlink LBT failures on a bandwidth part (BWP) configured for a target cell. When the UE determines that consistent LBT failures are occurring with respect to the BWP, the UE may determine an LBT failure state on the BWP. In response, the UE may execute a recovery procedure, which may include selecting a new BWP associated with the target cell and having configured uplink resources, performing a cell reselection procedure, or switching to idle in order to perform cell selection. The UE may then report the LBT failures according to cell identification and BWP.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an extended feature indication in new radio (NR), such as for slice specific extension (SSE). Aspects provide a method that may be performed by a transmitter device, such as a user equipment (UE) or a network node (e.g., a base station (BS)). The method generally includes determining a network node supports an extended feature, the extended feature being associated with an extended feature identifier. The transmitter device transmits a message, the message including the extended feature identifier and an indication that the apparatus is using the extended feature. A receiver device can receive the message and process the message and/or one or more subsequent messages based on the indication that the transmitter device is using the extended feature and the extended feature identifier.

The UE may identify the broadcast root key for a wireless network corresponding to the base station. The base station may transmit an encrypted broadcast transmission. The UE may receive the encrypted broadcast transmission from the base station, and the UE may decrypt the encrypted broadcast transmission to obtain broadcast information based on a cell-specific key derived from the broadcast root key.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive data from both a source base station and a target base station during handover. For example, the UE may refrain from resetting or reestablishing media access control (MAC) and packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer configurations until after a successful access procedure is performed with the target base station. In some cases, a single radio link control (RLC)/PDCP stack may be used during handover procedures. A source base station may, for example, forward data to a target base station after receiving a handover execution message. A UE may identify and resolve any duplicate data sent by both base stations during the transition. Additional signaling may be used (e.g., during the radio resource control (RRC) configuration) to indicate that a UE supports dual link handover.

    Abstract: Described techniques provide for prioritization of radio bearers and logical channels based on mixed transmission time interval (TTI) durations or numerologies of the bearers or logical channels. Two or more bearers may be identified for uplink data transmission that carry data to be transmitted using different TTI durations or numerologies. Each bearer may be prioritized based on the associated bearer type, TTI duration or numerology, or combinations thereof. Additionally, one or more logical channels may be associated with one or more bearers, and also prioritized based on the associated bearer type, TTI duration or numerology, or combinations thereof. A buffer status report (BSR) may be generated that has one or more portions associated with the different priorities of bearers or logical channels. Buffer information associated with the higher priority bearers or logical channels may be provided ahead of buffer information associated with lower priority bearers or logical channels.
