    Abstract: A system for registering an item stored in a shopping cart, includes a terminal attachable to the shopping cart and one or more cameras attached to the shopping cart and positioned to face an opening of the shopping cart through which an item is put therein by a customer. The terminal includes an interface circuit connectable to the cameras, and a processor configured to: acquire first images captured by the cameras, execute image recognition on each of the first images to identify an item and one or more feature points each corresponding to a part of a hand of the customer in said each of the first images, select one of the first images in which an item is identified and a smaller number of feature points are identified, and determine the item in the selected first image to be registered for purchase by the customer.

    Abstract: A discriminative mode generation unit generates a discriminative model that discriminates a target object included in an image using a target object image, which includes the target object and to which a label of the target object is applied, and a non-target object image, which includes a non-target object. An interest area detection unit inputs the target object image to the discriminative model, and detects an interest area which is an area that is predicted to include the target object. A rectangle generation unit generates a rectangle circumscribing the target object based on the interest area.     Abstract: A method of detecting vessels is described. A vessel is detected if a match exists between an object detection from each of two or more detectors 100, based on data obtained by the two or more detectors 100, which are selected from: an RF antenna 102; a light sensor 104; a radar detector 106; and an Automatic Identification System receiver 108. A method for detecting the presence of vessels at night is also described. The method comprises detecting a plurality of blobs within image data, applying an image mask to the image data to remove regions of the image data that are associated with having static objects and to retain the remaining portions of the image data, identifying one or more clusters of the detected plurality of blobs within the retained image data, and determining the presence of one or more vessels based on the one or more identified clusters.

    Abstract: An imaging device (1) according to the present disclosure includes a plurality of image sensors (sensors 11, 12, 13, and 14) that output detection results to a processing device by sharing one signal line. At least one of the image sensors (sensors 11, 12, 13, and 14) includes an imaging unit (21), a recognition unit (23), and an output unit (25). The imaging unit (21) captures an image to generate image data. The recognition unit (23) recognizes a predetermined target object from the image data. The output unit (25) outputs the recognition result of the recognition unit (23) to the processing device in a period that does not overlap with a period in which the detection result of each of other image sensors is output using the signal line in one frame period in which the imaging unit (21) captures one image.
