Abstract: Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication is provided. The method includes transmitting a quality of service (QoS) message to a device. The QoS message includes a request for a transmission opportunity for sending uplink data to the device. The QoS message includes at least one of a sequence control field or a QoS control field. The method further includes receiving a clear to transmit (CTX) message in response to the QoS message. The method further includes transmitting data to the device in response to the CTX message.

Abstract: One aspect includes a method of establishing, via a first access point, a distributed MIMO joint transmission opportunity with one or more second access points to one or more stations. The method comprises generating, via a processor, a first message for transmission to the stations and the second access points. The first message indicates a null data packet transmission and the stations configured to receive a stream during the joint transmission opportunity. The method also comprises transmitting the first message to the second access points and the stations. The method further comprises generating, via the processor, a reference phase signal for transmission to the second access points.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for resource allocation signaling in a high efficiency wireless local area network (WLAN) are disclosed. A receiver may receive, at a first station, a transmission frame that includes a WLAN signaling field decodable by a plurality of stations. The receiver may identify, in a station-specific portion of the WLAN signaling field, an order for a plurality of station-specific information blocks associated with the plurality of stations. The receiver may determine a number of spatial streams allocated to the first station based at least in part on the identified order for the plurality of station-specific information blocks.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for communicating over a wireless communication network. One such apparatus may include a memory and a processor configured to identify a transmission mode for a transmission of a signal; select a tone plan for transmission of the signal within a 320 MHz total channel bandwidth or a 240 MHz total channel bandwidth, where the tone plan includes a 256 point tone plan, 512 point tone plan, 1024 point tone plane, 2048 point tone plan, 4096 point tone plan, and where the tone plan is selected based on the transmission mode; generate the signal according to the tone plan; and transmit the signal over the 320 MHz total channel bandwidth or over the 240 MHz total channel bandwidth. The selected tone plan may include one or more duplicates of an IEEE 802.11ax 80 MHz (HE80) tone plan which may include one or more null space 26 tone resource units.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for multiplexing clients of different generations in trigger-based transmissions, including trigger-based transmissions in extremely-high throughput (EHT) Wi-Fi systems. An access point (AP) may generate a trigger frame compatible with two types of stations (STAs), such as EHT STAs and legacy (or high efficiency (HE)) STAs. The AP may transmit the trigger frame to a group of STAs, where legacy STAs may process the trigger frame a legacy trigger frame. EHT STAs may process the trigger frame to determine resource unit (RU) allocations for uplink transmissions in a bandwidth greater than a legacy bandwidth. An EHT STA may determine the resources in the larger bandwidth based on an EHT RU allocation table, a legacy RU allocation table and an additional bit in the trigger frame, or an ordering of RU allocations in the trigger frame.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may configure a preamble for a wireless transmission to include information indicative of a corresponding extremely high throughput (EHT) packet. In some cases, the preamble may be configured to include a signaling field indicative of the EHT packet. In some cases, symbols or bits of the preamble may be configured to indicate the EHT packet. In yet other cases, a field of the packet may be masked to indicate the EHT packet. A wireless station (STA) may receive the configured preamble, and based on the preamble, may receive (e.g., decode) the EHT packet.

Abstract: A device may signal a resource allocation scheme in a high efficiency wireless local area network (WLAN) preamble. In one example, a high efficiency (HE) WLAN signaling field is used to signal a resource allocation pattern to multiple devices. The HE WLAN signaling field includes a common user field that is decodable by the multiple devices and includes a resource allocation field. The resource allocation indicates resource unit distributions to the multiple devices and indicates which resource units in a multi-user PPDU correspond to multi-user MIMO transmissions and which resource units correspond to OFDMA single-user transmissions. The HE WLAN signaling field also includes dedicated user fields that are assigned to certain devices. The order of the dedicated user fields corresponds to the allocated resource units. The HE WLAN signaling field is transmitted with a WLAN preamble to the multiple devices.

Abstract: A wireless device may selectively add padding to an end of a data transmission in order to provide adequate time for a receiving device to process the transmitted data and transmit feedback related to the transmitted data. A wireless device may identify a total amount of data capable of being transmitted in a transmission, and determine a number of data bits to be transmitted in the transmission. An amount of padding may be selected based on a proportion of the total amount of data capable of being transmitted and the number of data bits. In some examples, a preamble for a feedback transmission may be transmitted concurrently with processing of the received transmission.
