    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to performing listen-before-talk (LBT) with discovery signal transmissions for spectrum sharing are provided. A wireless communication device senses a channel in a spatial domain based on a plurality of expected beam transmission directions, wherein the wireless communication device is associated with a first network operating entity, and wherein the channel is shared by a plurality of network operating entities including the first network operating entity. The wireless communication device transmits a plurality of discovery signals in one or more of the plurality of expected beam transmission directions during a discovery period to facilitate synchronization in the channel based on the sensing.

    Abstract: Techniques for managing handovers in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band may provide that a serving base station may receive one or more base station measurement reports and one or more UE measurement reports. The base station measurement reports may include information associated with one or more devices that may transmit signals using an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The UE measurement reports may include information associated with one or more devices that may generate interfering signals at the UE, which may include interfering signals from one or more devices that are not detected by the serving base station. The serving base station may, in some examples, determine whether to handover the UE to a second base station based at least in part on the base station measurement report and the UE measurement report.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) or a base station may identify a set of resource element groups (REGs) for low latency communication, and each REG may include a portion of a different resource block (RB) of a set of RBs (e.g., a set of non-contiguous RBs). The device may then map an uplink control channel to the selected REGs and communicate on the uplink control channel accordingly. Reference signals may also be transmitted in the same RBs, and the REGs may be mapped around the resources used for reference signals. In some cases, multiple UEs may transmit uplink control data using the same resources using code division multiplexing (CDM) (e.g., if the control payload is relatively small). In other cases, multiple UEs may be frequency division multiplexed (FDM).

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to drone user equipment (UE) indications that may be conveyed to a wireless network. In particular, a UE that has flight capabilities (i.e., capabilities to operate as an unmanned aircraft system) and optional further capabilities to report a current height level may indicate such capabilities to the wireless network. As such, the wireless network may differentiate the drone UE from other UEs that only operate on the ground. Furthermore, the optional current height level may enable the wireless network to differentiate among drone UEs operating at different heights and/or from other UEs that are operating on the ground. The wireless network may further use the information indicating the flight capabilities either alone or in combination with the optional height information to configure power control parameters, manage interference, provide mobility management functions, generate neighbor lists, control beamforming, or implement a radio resource configuration or management procedure.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive a compressed paging message broadcast from a base station, and transmit a connection request in response. The wireless device may include a paging response indication (e.g., indicating the connection request results from a received, false or genuine, paging request) and a wireless device identification (e.g., a UE ID) into the modified connection request. The base station may identify the connection request is in response to a paging broadcast by receiving the paging response indication, and determine if the connection request occurred in response to a false paging alert by comparing the received UE ID to the uncompressed paging request message list. If a match is found, the base station may transmit a connection establishment request. If a match is not found the base station may transmit a connection rejection message to the wireless device.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for scheduling transmissions for multiple subframes in a single scheduling operation. Scheduling information is provided in a multi-subframe scheduling information transmission for a set of subframes. Differences in characteristics for subframes under the multi-subframe information are determined, and one or more properties for communication during the one or more subframes may be adjusted based on subframe characteristics. Such multi-subframe scheduling may allow for reduced overhead for scheduling uplink or downlink transmissions.
