    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication, including techniques for sidelink resource allocation and communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive from a base station a single message that indicates a first transmission opportunity for transmission of information from the UE to a second UE and that indicates one or more additional transmission opportunities for at least one subsequent transmission of information from the UE to the second UE. The UE may transmit the information to the second UE in the first transmission opportunity. The UE may also retransmit the information to the second UE in at least one of the one or more additional transmission opportunities responsive to the transmission of the information in the first transmission opportunity being unsuccessful. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which sidelink communications between devices may be retransmitted using one or more nodes. A first user equipment (UE) may transmit a broadcast, multicast, or groupcast communication to a set of other UEs using sidelink resources. A node may monitor the communications and store the first UE transmission. UEs of the set of other UEs may transmit feedback reports to the node that indicate one or more missing packets of the first UE transmission. The node may retransmit one or more of the stored packets to the set of other UEs based on the feedback reports. In some cases, the sidelink communications may be encoded using a network coding algorithm, and the node may retransmit network coded packets based on the feedback reports, may transmit newly encoded packets based on the feedback reports, or combinations thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described related to timer-based sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX). A UE may receive configuration information for a sidelink DRX mode from a base station or another UE, which may indicate one or more parameters of the sidelink DRX mode. When operating in the sidelink DRX mode, a group of UEs may have shared active durations and inactive durations for coordinating sidelink communications. In a timer-based sidelink DRX mode, if a UE receives or transmits a sidelink communication, the UE may initiate an inactivity timer, and the UE may continue to monitor a sidelink channel for other sidelink communications while the timer is running. One or more rules may govern the operation of an inactivity timer with respect to the shared inactive durations.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for updating timing advance values for deactivated cells are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a first cell that is deactivated, a random access message for a timing advance probing procedure. The UE may transmit the random access message to the first cell. In some examples, the UE may receive, from a second cell, an activation command that activates the first cell and an indication of a timing advance value for the first cell generated based on the random access message. In other examples, the UE may monitor for a random access response (RAR) message from the first cell, the RAR message including an activation command that activates the first cell and an indication of a timing advance value generated based on the random access message. The UE may communicate with the first cell based on the activation command and the timing advance value.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a sidelink beam failure reporting configuration including a set of sidelink beam failure reporting events. The communication device may identify occurrence of a sidelink beam failure reporting event, and may transmit a beam measurement report to another communication device over a sidelink in accordance with the sidelink beam failure reporting configuration. The transmission of the beam measurement report may be triggered based on the sidelink beam failure reporting event.
