摘要: The invention is directed to color-stable syrup and beverage compositions fortified with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which contain an azo food dye, such as FD&C Yellow #6. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is employed as a color stabilizer and effectively prevents decoloring of the compositions, even upon prolonged periods of storage. The syrup and beverage formulations may optionally contain a glassy sodium polyphosphate, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, niacinamide, folic acid, calcium pantothenate, biotin, flavoring agents, sweeteners, acidic agents, etc.

摘要: A backflow valve for use in a post-mix carbonator system for preventing the backflow of carbonated fluid, thereby preventing the contamination of the fresh water supply, and indicating when such a backflow condition has occurred. In a first embodiment the valve comprises a check seat body which houses an elastomeric valve member, and a sight glass body for viewing the position of the elastomeric valve member. The elastomeric valve member allows normal the flow of fluid from the supply to the outlet and prevents the reverse flow of fluid when the pressure at the outlet exceeds the pressure at the supply. As the pressure downstream increases, the elastomeric valve member is forced in the upstream direction over a plurality of steps in the check seat body. The position of the elastomeric valve member may be observed through a sight glass body which has a line marking the normal position of the elastomeric valve member. In a second embodiment the elastomeric valve member is slidably disposed within a retaining chamber that is positioned between the upstream and downstream portions of the valve. Under normal operating conditions, the elastomeric valve member is in a normal first position allowing fluid flow therethrough; however, in a backflow condition, the elastomeric valve member slides into a second position within the retaining chamber and fluid flow is restricted, and a backflow condition is thereby indicated.

摘要: A vending machine antirock mechanism is disclosed which is a safety feature for a soft drink vending machine to prevent rocking of the vending machine. The antirock ratchet mechanism prevents oscillatory rocking of a vending machine by a potential pilferer until a sufficient forward tilt of the machine is attained to possibly allow soft drink products to be pilfered from the machine through the product dispensing chute. A safety problem has been incurred here as the vending machines are very heavy, and can possibly fall on top of and injure the person rocking the machine or other persons in the proximity thereof. The present invention is designed to prevent such rocking motions by mounting an antirock mechanism at one or more locations on the front of the machine, with a vertically movable antirock member therein, such that when the machine is first rocked backwardly, the antirock member moves downward vertically to the floor, and locks in an extended position to prevent the machine from rocking forwardly again. The machine is then jammed in a rearwardly tilted position to prevent oscillatory rocking thereof.

摘要: An automated drinkmaker system which is designed to accept an input drink order, as from a cash register, and deliver the drink order, for different sizes and different flavors, with or without ice, completely finished in lidded containers to an output station. The automated drinkmaker system is designed for labor free processing of drink orders in high volume quick service or fast food establishments. The machine is designed around a carousel type of drink transporter which intermittently carries each drink to and from four circularly spaced stations, cup dispensing, ice dispensing, soda dispensing, lid application and marking. The carousel design allows a cup to be dispensed at one station while another cup is being filled with ice at a second station, and yet another is being filled with soda at a third station, etc. The use of carousels is extended to both cup and lid dispensing. The system is designed to interface with any commercially-available, portioning ice dispenser, and also to interface directly with a cash register system to enable the cashier to input a customer's order. At an output station, the cup is transferred from the carousel to a linear transporter elevator which carries the cup up and down through a lidding and marking procedure, after which the completed drink is transferred to an output conveyor.

摘要: A batch mixing process for the preparation of a beverage syrup which results in a requirement for significantly lesser quantities of water in the syrup mixing process, primarily by reducing the amount of rinse water required to rinse between the mixing of the separate components of the beverage syrup. The syrup batching loop employs a main syrup tank and a subsidiary premixing tank for premixing selected components of the beverage syrup with a quantity of water to dilute each premixed component. A feed line extends from the premixing tank to the syrup tank, such that after dilution, each diluted premixed component can be pumped therethrough from the premixing tank to the main syrup tank. A significant feature of the present invention is the utilization of a recycle line extending from the syrup mixing tank to the premixing tank, which allows recycling of the partially prepared syrup mixture from the syrup tank to the premixing tank for rinsing of the premix equipment between the individual mixing steps of the overall syrup making process. While the premixing tank is being emptied of the diluted component into the syrup tank, the premixing tank and the lines associated therewith are also being rinsed with the partially completed beverage syrup from the syrup tank, rather than with rinse water. The premixing and rinsing steps are repeated for each additional component of the beverage syrup mixture which must be premixed in that manner, such that the rinse water normally required to rinse the premixing vessel and the lines associated therewith between each different premixing step is not required.
