    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit one or more messages indicating a first time period having a duration prior to expected traffic being available for transmission at the UE, and indicating a size associated with the expected traffic (e.g., a quantity of bits). In some examples, the one or more messages may include a UE assistance information (UAI) message or a buffer status report (BSR) message. The UE may receive a response message based on the one or more messages indicating that a network entity is to enter a sleep mode during a second time period based on the first time period and the size associated with the expected traffic. In some examples, the network entity may enter the sleep mode based on the first time period and the size associated with the expected traffic.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, signaling indicating a channel state information (CSI) report configuration. The CSI report configuration may indicate a mapping between one or more CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources or one or more CSI-RS port groups and one or more antenna panels or antenna subpanels of the base station. The UE may generate CSI feedback based on the mapping. In some cases, the UE may generate the CSI feedback based on multiple hypotheses that correspond to CSI-RS measurements. In some examples, the multiple hypotheses may include a set of hypothesis groups based on one or more antenna panels or antenna subpanels of the base station. The UE may transmit a message reporting the CSI feedback to the base station.

In some systems, a transmitting device may transmit a reference signal indicating a first service type supported by the transmitting device and a receiving device may receive the reference and determine whether to measure a signal strength associated with the reference signal based on determining whether the first service type supported by the transmitting device and a second service type supported by the receiving device are a same service type. For example, the receiving device may measure the reference signal if the first service type indicated by the reference signal and the second service type supported by the receiving device are the same service type. Alternatively, the receiving device may refrain from measuring the reference signal if the first service type indicated by the reference signal and the second service type supported by the receiving device are different service types.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A configuration for a reference signal used to determine a non-linear behavior of transmission components at a transmitting device may be determined. The configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on signaling transmitted by the transmitting device, signaling transmitted by a device that receives the reference signal, or both. Additionally, or alternatively, the configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on a configuration of other signals transmitted by the transmitting device prior to or concurrently with the transmission of the reference signal. The determined configuration may be used to generate and transmit the reference signal or to determine a configuration of a received reference signal. In both cases, a non-linear response of transmission components at the transmitting device may be determined based on the reference signal.

    Abstract: In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) determines a transmission gap adjustment (TGA) for a first message (msgA) of a 2 step random access channel (RACH) procedure based on measurement of a reference signal transmitted by a base station as well as the radio resource configuration (RRC) configurations for msgA. In other aspects, a base station transmits a system information block (SIB) or RRC signaling that indicates at least one possible configuration of the TGA, and UEs determine the TGA depending on RRC state. Connected mode UEs having a timing alignment (TA) timer running may determine the TGA based on a previous TA. UEs in other RRC modes determine the TGA based on the possible configuration transmitted in the SIB or RRC signaling. Advantageously, 2 step RACH UEs are able to communicate with the base station without the closed loop TA information provided by a 4 step RACH.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Base stations may reduce energy consumption by minimizing the use of periodic signals such as the system information block one (SIB1), which a user equipment (UE) may use to perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. A UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station requesting an SIB1. The base station may transmit a synchronization signal block (SSB) that indicates that the base station is not transmitting an SIB1, and the UE may transmit the cell wake-up signal in response. A base station may refrain from periodically transmitting SSBs. A UE may determine that it is within range of a base station and that it has not received an SSB. The UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station, and the base station may transmit an SSB and an SIB1 to the UE.
