Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may participate in sidelink communication using a sidelink slot structure that includes a set of periodic automatic gain control (AGC) candidate transmission time intervals (TTIs) that are common across a wireless network. The UE may monitor for a sidelink message during an interval in accordance with the set of common, periodic AGC TTIs, and the UE may transmit a sidelink feedback message in response to the sidelink message. The UE may transmit the sidelink feedback message over a set of resource blocks (RBs) of the sidelink slot structure if a format of the sidelink feedback message is associated with an uplink control channel format 0. Alternatively, the UE may transmit the sidelink feedback message over more than two symbols of the sidelink slot structure if the format is associated with an uplink control channel format 2.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access preamble according to a cyclic shift from a first set of cyclic shifts associated with a cyclic shift step size that is less than a round trip time (RTT) of a serving cell of the UE. The UE may generate the first set of cyclic shifts based on a second set of cyclic shifts and a set of cyclic shift offsets associated with an offset step size that is less than the RTT. If a network entity detects a collision between the random access preamble and another random access preamble, the network entity may transmit a collision resolution message indicating resources for the UE to retransmit the random access preamble. Alternatively, the network entity may proceed with the random access procedure by transmitting a random access response message to the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a beam configuration. The communication device may select a first beam (for example, a sensing beam) for wireless communication based on the beam configuration. The first beam including a first beam gain and a first pointing direction. The communication device may select a second beam (for example, a transmitting beam) based on the beam configuration. The second beam including a second beam gain and a second pointing direction. The communication device may determine (for example, adjust) an energy detection threshold (EDT) associated with the second beam based on the second beam gain in the first pointing direction and the first beam gain in the first pointing direction. The communication device may sense a channel using the second beam and the EDT associated with the second beam.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may communicate with a set of transceiver nodes (e.g., transmission reception points (TRPs)) in a first transceiver node operation mode (e.g., a multi-TRP mode). A first transceiver node of the set of transceiver nodes may receive, from a second of the set of transceiver nodes, an indication to switch between rate matching states. The first transceiver node may switch from a first rate matching state to a second rate matching state and may transmit a downlink shared channel based on a resource configuration associated with the second rate matching state. The UE may receive the shared channel based on an antenna port configuration determined by the UE based on the first transceiver node operation and rate matching information. The rate matching information may be provided by the first transceiver node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment may receive a signal in an automatic gain control resource and may receive a physical sidelink feedback channel message based on a gain for reception of the first physical sidelink feedback channel message, where the gain is based on receiving the signal. In some aspects, the first physical sidelink feedback channel message may be one of a set of physical sidelink feedback channel messages time-division multiplexed over a set of contiguous time resources. Additionally, or alternatively, the user equipment may receive a sidelink message after receiving the physical sidelink feedback channel message using a second gain, where the second gain is based on receiving a second signal in a second automatic gain control resource that occurs before the first automatic gain control resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A segment based feedback codebook may lead to more efficient and responsive codebook generation for hybrid automatic-repeat/request (HARQ) acknowledgment reporting. A segment-based feedback codebook may support codebook generation where each bit in an acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) codebook may correspond to a segment of resources. A network entity may schedule a user equipment with one or more messages within one or more segments. The UE may generate one ACK/NACK bit for each segment, and a HARQ codebook transmitted in a physical uplink control channel reporting occasion may include the ACK/NACK bits corresponding to the messages in those segments. A segment may be a set of time domain resources.
