Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink message that includes a control channel monitoring periodicity and control channel offset for a radio frame. A UE may identify a set of slots within a radio frame to monitor for downlink control information (DCI) based on the received downlink message. The UE may identify a control channel candidate within a search space of each slot of the set of slots, and may identify the control channel candidate of a first slot based on calculations that include a current slot and a previous slot. There may be one or more slots that occur between the previous slot and the current slot. The UE may receive DCI that is user-specific based on the identified control channel candidate.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station in a wireless communications system using downlink beams and uplink beams. A UE may determine whether to maintain or change an uplink beam of the UE after a downlink beam failure. The UE may receive control signaling indicating a configuration for uplink beam management for use in response to a downlink beam failure detection in a deployment configuration where uplink beams of the UE may be decoupled from downlink beams of the UE. The UE may perform a downlink beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure based on a downlink beam failure of a downlink beam of the UE. The UE may reconfigure an uplink beam based on the configuration and the downlink BFR procedure.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to autonomous sidelink communication are provided. A first user equipment (UE) communicates, in a first subband of a plurality of subbands within a shared radio frequency band during a first time period, first sidelink control information (SCI) associated with a second subband of the plurality of subbands. The first UE communicates, with the second UE, first sidelink data in the second subband during the first time period based on the first SCI. The first UE communicates, with the second UE in the first subband during a second time period, second SCI associated with a third subband of the plurality of subbands, the third subband being different from the second subband based on a frequency hopping pattern. The first UE communicates, with the second UE, second sidelink data in the third subband during the second time period based on the second SCI.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support management of network-configured sensing bandwidths in a wireless communication system. In particular aspects, a network configures a sensing bandwidth, and the sensing bandwidth configuration is signaled to a contending node. The contending node (e.g., a UE or a base station) performs a medium sensing procedure (e.g., a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure) using the signaled configuration of the sensing bandwidth. Aspects of this disclosure provide various techniques for signaling the configuration of the sensing bandwidth to the contending node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for receiver-assisted channel access in shared radio frequency spectrum. A receiver, such as a user equipment (UE) may transmit a measurement report to a transmitter, such as an access network entity, that indicates channel occupancy as measured at the receiver. In some cases, the receiver may identify resources for signal measurement and reporting that are configured by the transmitter, and provide an interference measurement report based on the signal measurements. The interference measurement report may indicate whether a channel is occupied, or an occupancy level of the channel. Resources may be configured for multiple beams, with the interference measurement report including interference measurements for the multiple beams. Further, the signal resources may provide resources for a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, through signal resource sets that span multiple slots.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may employ an extended cyclic prefix, a postfix, or both for sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, such that gaps between SRS transmissions are long enough for UE antenna switching operations, but shorter in duration than any maximum channel vacancy time durations set by a wireless communications system. Further, UEs may transmit SRSs to base stations in accordance with an SRS configuration. For example, a base station may provide SRS configuration information to a UE that indicates, for example, information related to SRS scheduling, subband information, a cyclic prefix length, a cyclic postfix length, listen-before-talk (LBT) type information, an SRS trigger, an SRS cancellation procedure, or any combinations thereof. Based on such SRS configuration information, a UE may perform partial subband SRS techniques, subband selection techniques, SRS bandwidth adaptation techniques, LBT type configuration techniques, etc.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a user equipment (UE) to identify one or more missed downlink control messages. The UE may use indicators received with downlink control messages to order the downlink control messages and determine if a message is missing. Indicators in different downlink control messages may be transmitted using different numbers of bits, and the UE may use methods to compare the indicators with different bit sizes. The UE may compare all the indicators using the smallest indicator bit size or may compare indicators in sequential pairs, using a shared bit size for indicators having a same bit size and using a smallest bit size for indicators having different bit sizes. After comparing indicators and determining if one or more messages are missing, the UE may notify the base station of any missing downlink control messages using a feedback message.

Abstract: Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) numerologies that maintain symbol boundary alignment while distributing excess cyclic prefixes (CPs) among OFDM symbols. Communication is established using a first sub-carrier spacing (SCS) and a first OFDM numerology, such as an exemplary numerology that distributes excess CP duration among a set of symbols that occupy a time interval within or equal to a corresponding time interval of a symbol of a second OFDM numerology with a second lower SCS. The first SCS may be, e.g., 960 kHz. The second SCS may be, e.g., 120 kHz. Another exemplary OFDM numerology described herein distributes the excess CP as prefix and postfix portions to one of the symbols, such as the first symbol of a set. Communication then proceeds using the first OFDM numerology at the first SCS and, in illustrative examples, using the second OFDM numerology at the second SCS or other OFDM numerologies at other SCSs.
