Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a multicast or broadcast radio bearer (MRB) in a radio link control (RLC) acknowledged mode (AM). The UE may determine an adjustment of an RLC AM transmission window of a base station. The RLC AM transmission window may be associated with retransmission of RLC packets associated with the MRB. The UE may synchronize an RLC AM reception window of the UE with the RLC AM transmission window based at least in part on determining the adjustment of the RLC AM transmission window of the base station. The RLC AM reception window may be associated with reassembly of RLC packets associated with the MRB. Numerous other aspects are provided.

An application function, such as via an application server, can determine one or more burst parameters associated with a traffic flow for at least one service. The application function can send the one or more burst parameters a network. The burst parameters may include a burst factor associated with a minimum bit rate for providing service coverage for the traffic flow and/or a burst spread. A core network and/or access network (AN) entity can obtain the burst parameters and utilize the burst factor for communicating with a user equipment (UE). The CN and/or AN may use the burst parameters for admission control, resource allocation, and/or setting sleep mode parameters.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for interworking between legacy and next generation radio access technologies (RATs) in a communication network. In some examples, a handover from a next generation access network to a legacy access network may be performed via a next generation core network and a legacy core network. A handover request received at a next generation core network serving node may include an identifier of a target cell within the legacy access network. The next generation core network serving node may identify a legacy core network serving node to which the handover may be forwarded based on the target cell identifier. Packet data units may then be routed over the legacy access network and the next generation core network by mapping data flows in the next generation core network to packet data connections in the legacy access network.
