Abstract: An integrated circuit includes an overvoltage protection circuit. The overvoltage protection circuit detects overvoltage events at a pad of the integrated circuit. The overvoltage protection circuit generates a max voltage signal that is the greater of the voltage at the pad and a supply voltage of the integrated circuit. The overvoltage protection circuit disables a PMOS transistor coupled to the pad by supplying the max voltage signal to the gate of the PMOS transistor when an overvoltage event is present at the pad.

Abstract: The present application discloses an electronic fuse circuit and a circuit system using the same. During startup operation, the circuit system using the electronic fuse circuit of the present application detects an amplitude of the load voltage by a second protection circuit, when the voltage exceeds a set second threshold signal, the electronic fuse circuit is controlled to be turned off; during normal operation, a current of a path where the electronic switch is located is monitored by a first protection circuit to prevent a current of the circuit system from overcurrent. According to the technical solution of the present disclosure, the load can be prevented from damage caused by a failure such as short circuit and electricity leakage of the switch power supply, and the system can be protected from overcurrent.

Abstract: A power conversion circuit having a solid-state circuit breaker integrated therein is disclosed. With a disconnect switch between a utility source and the power conversion apparatus described for meeting UL489, the power conversion circuit includes an input connectable to an AC source, a rectifier circuit connected to the input to convert an AC power input to a DC power, and a DC link coupled to the rectifier circuit to receive the DC power therefrom. The rectifier circuit comprises a plurality of phase legs each including thereon an upper switching unit and a lower switching unit, wherein at least one of the upper and lower switching units on each phase leg comprises a bi-directional switching unit that selectively controls current and withstands voltage in both directions, so as to provide a circuit breaking capability that selectively interrupts current flow through the rectifier circuit, while maintaining original power conversion functionalities.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a power conversion device capable of specifying a failure location of an inverter in detail when an attempt of active discharge fails. There are provided an arithmetic operation circuit 102 that outputs a discharge instruction to control a discharge operation based on a voltage between both ends of a discharge circuit, and an output circuit 203 that outputs a drive signal based on the control signal. The arithmetic operation circuit 102 monitors an amount of the decreased voltage between both the ends of the discharge circuit, an LV read back signal being an output of the arithmetic operation circuit 102, and an HV read back signal being an output of the output circuit 203, and specifies a failure location.

Abstract: One example includes a power supply system. The system includes a voltage-limit power regulator to generate an output voltage and an instantaneous overvoltage sensor configured to detect an overvoltage condition associated with the output voltage. The system further includes an overvoltage latch-off timer system configured to initiate a latch-off timer in response to detecting the overvoltage condition. The latch-off timer can be uninterrupted by an amplitude of the output voltage. The overvoltage latch-off timer system can further be configured to detect a persistent overvoltage fault in response to detecting the overvoltage condition after expiration of the latch-off timer. The overvoltage latch-off timer system can be configured to generate a fault signal to disable the voltage-limit power regulator in response to detecting the persistent overvoltage fault.

Abstract: Series arcing in wiring is a potentially catastrophic situation that has proven to be difficult to detect reliably with existing methods. This invention allows for the quick and accurate detection of series arcing in an electrical circuit. The method works with AC or DC power sources, and at any voltage or current level. This method will also detect high resistance in a circuit, which is another indicator of a potentially hazardous fault condition. The method compares the voltage at each end of a conductor, and will declare a fault when this voltage exceeds the minimum voltage required to sustain arcing.
