    摘要: The application discloses an improved thread break detection device and system, intended particularly for use in industrial sewing equipment, which makes advantageous use of fluidic control components and circuits. The utilization of fluidic systems for thread break detection and the control has been known to be theoretically desirable, but its practical accomplishment has been elusive. The disclosed system includes a unique yet extremely simplified thread sensing fluidic control device, in advantageous association with known fluidic control elements, to achieve fluidic control of thread break detection with a high level of practicality. The system utilizes a wire-like thread detecting element of rather conventional configuration but arranged in a unique manner to provide system pressure variation in response to thread break. A fluidic position sensor element is arranged to sense a slight back pressure increase occasioned by movement of the sensing wire and to effect the desired machine control in accordance therewith.

    摘要: An improved method and device for readying of yarn ends, particularly in yarn-winding machines wherein, when a yarn piecing operation by a knotter is required after detecting a break of winding yarn, the retrieved yarns from a package and a supply cop are inspected to determine whether they involve doubled or tripled yarn by a slub catcher which is used for normal winding operation, and when the slub catcher detects the above-mentioned defect, the defect is cut off by a cutter of the slub catcher so that yarn piecing operation is not carried out therewith, and the yarn retrieving motion and the above-mentioned inspection is repeated.

    摘要: A yarn winding mechanism for removing the treated yarn from yarn treating apparatus such as stuffer crimpers and the like. The treated yarn is wound upon a spool into a yarn winding by means of a rotating driving roll engaging the peripheral surface of the winding. The winding is normally in engagement with the driving roll but is movable out of engagement to halt the winding operation. The yarn winding is mounted upon pivoted lever means, and movement to the disengaged position is accomplished by means of a cable attached at one end to the pivoted lever means and at the other end to a rotatable drum. A drum drive means operated by a fluid pressure motor selectively engagable withthe drum to rotate the drum through a predetermined arc, thus pulling the cable and disengaging the winding from the driving roll. The motor operates in response to means sensing the quantity of yarn in the exit portion of the treating chamber. A means for sensing a break in the yarn is also provided, which can disengage the winding from the driving roll and can stop the feeding of yarn into the yarn treating chamber.

    摘要: A device for effecting automatic rewind in a web handling apparatus of the type having means for rotatably supporting a hub having a web of strip material wound thereon with the innermost end of the web anchored to the hub so that at least a portion of the web extends substantially radially from the hub when the web has been completely unwound therefrom. The device includes drive means having a first condition for unwinding the web from the hub and a second condition for rotating the hub to rewind the web thereabout. A first sensing means is actuatable by an increase in tension of the web to close a first switch and a second sensing means is actuatable by a portion of the web extending radially from the core to close a second switch. The drive means is placed in its second condition to rewind the web onto the hub in response to the simultaneous closure of the first and second switches.

    摘要: In a tape transport including the proposed tape loadingunloading mechanism, multiple-loop tape-storage arms are automatically retracted for tape loading and unloading, and then returned to normal operation about their associated predetermined null positions. Multiple-loop tape-storage arms are especially useful in high acceleration tape transports. The combination including an arm tension spring, a roller, a cam further including an elongated slot, and the reel motor-brake assembly is utilized during normal operation of the arm about its predetermined null position and during the arm retract-return sequence. Commercially available tape loading-unloading mechanisms require additional components, such as a motor, which remain idle during normal operation of the tape transport, in order to effect the retract-return function.
