    摘要: There is provide a printer having a rotational driving mechanism in which a print sheet can be fed in both of forward and reverse directions and a platen can be securely supported without dropping off from a head holder. The printer contains a head unit 4, a platen 20 that is freely rotatably mounted on the head unit 4 to support a print sheet and feed a print sheet through rotation, and a print head 53 for performing print on the print sheet supported by the platen 20. The head unit 4 has support grooves 10 for supporting the rotational shaft 21 of the platen 20, and a rotational driving mechanism 30 having plural gears for transmitting the rotational driving force of a driving motor 40 to a platen-side gear 22. The rotational driving mechanism 30 contains a gear 33 at the end side and two planetary gears 36 and 37. When the print sheet is fed in the forward direction, the first planetary gear 36 is engaged with the platen-side gear 22 to transmit the rotational driving force, and also when the print sheet is fed in the reverse direction, the second planetary gear 37 is engaged with the platen-side gear 22 to transmit the rotational force.

    摘要: A carriage drive control device is provided which moves a carriage at a constant speed in a recording area for recording operation and which moves the carriage to a target stop position in a better way for non-recording operation. A controlled variable of actuator is calculated based on a speed error between a target speed and a moving speed of the carriage. The target speed is set based on a position error between the target stop position and a current position of the carriage, and is not more than a predetermined first speed. When the actuator starts moving the carriage for recording operation, a control rule used for calculation of the controlled is set to a first control rule, and when the actuator starts moving the carriage for non-recording operation, the control rule is set to a second control rule.

    摘要: A method for printing in a draft mode of a serial printer includes a first printing step for printing information data in a first direction on a first line, and a second printing step for printing information data in a second direction opposite to the first direction on a second line. The second printing step includes checking the number of dots corresponding to the data to be printed, and aligning the dots to be printed corresponding to the first and second lines in a predetermined form by determining dots to be printed according to the checked number of dots. According the principles of the present invention, every other dot is skipped and printed in turns, that is, a first dot is printed and a next dot is not printed when the number of the adjacent dots is an odd number. To the contrary, when the number of the adjacent dots is an even number, a first dot is not printed and a next dot is printed. As a result, it is possible to prevent printing data from being refracted by vertically aligning or diagonally aligning the dots.

    摘要: A dot matrix printer and motor having hammers forming in part a hammerbank and a counterbalance mechanically linked to the hammerbank with a link to the position of the motor. The motor includes coils positively driven and then negatively driven after current in the coils has at least partially decayed. The current in the coils is allowed to decay further after negatively driving the coil. The motor coils are connected to an H bridge having transistors which can be formed in a full H bridge or half bridge. A controller switches the transistors to cause negative and positive flow through the H bridge for positive current flow from a reference level to an upper reference level, and a decay of current within the coils to an intermediate reference. The coils are then driven with a negative current from the intermediate reference level to a second intermediate reference level afterwhich the current within the coils decays to a lower or initial reference level.

    摘要: Disclosed is an improved printer and carriage drive mechanism. The carriage motor is mounted at a first side of the printer chassis, and an idler pulley is mounted at a second side of the chassis. The carriage also has a pair of idler pulleys. A single flat smooth belt is attached to the first side of the chassis. From there, it passes over to and around one of the idler pulleys on the carriage, back to and around the motor pulley, across the print zone and around the idler pulley on the second side of the chassis, back to and around the other carriage idler pulley, and then back to the second side of the chassis, where it is attached. The motor is movably attached to the chassis and is tensioned by a spring. This mechanism provides for substantial mechanical advantage over common simple carriage drive mechanisms. A smaller, less expensive motor and a quieter flat smooth belt can be used. The motor is allowed to run at more optimal speeds and expensive ball bearings can be avoided in the motor and pulleys.
