Abstract: A plurality of DRBs may be configured for UDC. The DRBs configured for UDC may only be activated for UDC operation upon UE request. The UE may cause selected DRBs to be activated for UDC operation using an uplink RRC message, a user plane control PDU, or a PDCP/SDAP header in a data PDU. A base station may transmit, to a UE, a UDC configuration configuring one or more DRBs to support UDC for the UE without initial UDC operation activation; receive, from the UE, an indication to activate at least one DRB with UDC configured for UDC operation; and, in response to the indication, at least one of: perform, locally, a PDCP entity re-establishment procedure associated with the at least one DRB, or inform the UE to perform a PDCP entity re-establishment procedure associated with the at least one DRB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling security information between a wireless device and a network for a fast RRC release procedure in a wireless communication system will be provided. A core network node in a wireless communication system receives, from a radio access network (RAN) node, a UE context resume request message including a fast Radio Resource Control (RRC) release indication. The fast RRC release indication informs that the RAN node transmits an RRC release message to a wireless device before the core network node receives the UE context resume request message. A core network node determines to stop computation of new security information for the wireless device based on the fast RRC release indication. A core network node transmits a UE context resume response message to the RAN node.

Abstract: This application provides a data transmission method, an apparatus, and a system, which are applied to the field of communication technologies. The data transmission method includes: receiving, by a serving access network device, a first radio resource control RRC message from a terminal device, where the first RRC message is used to establish small data transmission SDT; and if the serving access network device does not meet a requirement of the SDT, sending a second RRC message or a third RRC message to the terminal device, where the second RRC message may be used to indicate the terminal device to terminate the SDT, and the third RRC message may be used to indicate the serving access network device to reject performing the SDT. Based on this solution, once the serving access network device does not meet the requirement of the SDT, the SDT may be rejected or terminated.
