摘要： A method and apparatus for increasing the capacity of a remote terminal cabinet and providing ISDN Basic Rate Interfaces to the remote cabinet which otherwise has insufficient additional physical slots to support such ISDN Basic Rate Interfaces is described. The method features removing any protective covering from a space previously designated for but lacking a protection block equipment and installing in the space ISDN Basic Rate Interface equipment. The installation includes securing the equipment physically in place and connecting the equipment for communications with a T1 carrier service at a first interface and a plurality of ISDN BRI interfaces to customer premises lines at a second interface. The remainder of the remote cabinet communications is left unaffected.

摘要： A transport apparatus for large network telecommunication equipment, includes a central switch frame for holding electronic equipment, and having first and second switch bays and a main controller bay sandwiched between the first and second switch bays in an in-line, rigidly fixed manner; first and second end cable storage frames, each for holding cables; first and second junction panels; a first hinge assembly for hingedly connecting one end of the first junction panel to the first end cable storage frame and an opposite end of the first junction panel to the first switch bay to pivotally move the first end cable storage frame between an in-line configuration in-line with the first switch bay and a folded configuration positioned in front of the first switch bay; a second hinge assembly for hingedly connecting one end of the second junction panel to the second end cable storage frame and an opposite end of the second junction panel to an opposite end of the second switch bay to pivotally move the second end cable storage frame between an in-line configuration in-line with the second switch bay and a folded configuration positioned in front of the second switch bay; and the end cable storage frames and the switch bays each include tie bars for supporting cable bundles extending between the end cable storage frames and the switch bays in a looped U-shape extending across the junction panels.

摘要： A malfunction position detection system is disclosed for a modular telecommunication facility. Each telecommunication facility is constructed out of a plurality of modular cabinets which are positioned in a station rack. The malfunction position detection system includes switches for setting the position of each cabinet in the station rack. The cabinet position is read off of a bus connected to the switches by a plurality of electronic units connected to the cabinet. The cabinet position is stored in some of the electronic units. As a result, the cabinet position can be sent along with an error message to the cellular system when an error occurs.

摘要： A chassis and associated telecommunication circuit card are disclosed. The chassis has heat dissipation and flame containment features while accommodating a high density of the circuitry cards. Embodiments include an inner housing with a double-layer middle floor dividing the chassis into top and bottom chambers. Each layer has partially aligned slots, and an air gap is provided between the two layers. Embodiments also include a double-layer mesh cover with an air gap existing between the two mesh layers. Projections and grooves are provided on the inner surfaces of the inner housing to receive circuit cards having a guide on one edge and a fin on another. The circuit card includes conductor structures such as multiple board layers with paired and segregated conductors. The circuit card also includes some components positioned to cooperate with the ventilation features of the chassis and includes some components chosen for low-power consumption or reduced flammability.
