    摘要: A method and apparatus suited for forming radiographs wherein distribution patterns of penetrating radiation representing radiographic information to be recorded are recorded in terms of electrostatic charge patterns on successive charge-receiving areas distributed along a carrier, by bringing such areas successively into a chamber in which each such area is exposed to an ionizable fluid while this is exposed in an electric field to a pattern of penetrating radiation thus producing in such fluid positive and negative charge carriers and forming with the positive or negative charge carriers a corresponding electrostatic charge pattern on such area, the latter being brought by subsequent movement of the carrier to a position outside such chamber where such electrostatic charge pattern is transferable or developable to form a transferable visible record.

    摘要: In the illustrated embodiments the undersurface of the thermoplastic coating and the associated electrode are formed with a corrugated structure to produce a correspondingly regularly varying electric field at the exposed thermoplastic surface. The spacing between corrugations is much smaller than the desired x-ray image resolution so that the developed image in effect modulates the regular variation produced by the corrugations. Where the original corrugations are derived from an off-axis zone plate, the developed image can be read out by means of a divergent incident light beam.

    摘要: A device for the electrostatic recording of x-ray images comprises two spaced electrodes with a gas-filled gap therebetween. One of the electrodes comprises a layer of an ultraviolet emitting fluorescent material and a layer of an air-exposable ultraviolet-sensitive photoemitting material. A plastic sheet is adjacent to the other electrode. An electric field is applied across the gap to accelerate photoelectrons emitted by the photoemitting material. The electrostatic image formed on the plastic sheet is developed xerographically after the exposure.

    摘要: Disclosed is an electrostatic recording method for forming an electrostatic latent image on a dielectric electrostatic recording layer provided on a conductive support. The relationship between the thickness d[.mu.m] and the specific dielectric constant .epsilon..sub.s of the electrostatic recording layer is such that the ratio of d[.mu.m] to .epsilon..sub.s, i.e. d/.epsilon..sub.s [.mu.m], is not larger than 1.65[.mu.m] when the image recorded is of reflection type and not larger than 1.5[.mu.m] when it is of transmission type. The latent image formed on the recording layer is developed by use of electrophotographic liquid developer. Also disclosed is an ionizing radiation image recording method wherein ionizing radiation carrying image information is directed onto a material which generates photoelectrons or a gas which is dissociated upon receipt of the ionizing radiation to an extent corresponding to the intensity of the radiation. In this method, the ratio of the thickness of the electrostatic recording layer to the specific dielectric constant is selected to be not larger than 1.5[.mu.m] when the image is of reflection type and not larger than 1.0[.mu.m] when it is of transmission type.

    摘要: A process of producing an electrostatic photographic image by means of X-rays, comprising applying a voltage across two electrodes disposed in opposed parallel relationship, one of the electrodes having a layer of an insulating material on the side thereof facing the other electrode, the space between the insulating layer and the other electrode being filled with an electron or ion emitting liquid. The electrons or ions are generated in the liquid by subjecting the latter to imagewise exposure with X-rays and the electrons or ions are absorbed on the surface of the insulating layer to form an electrostatic latent image. The latent image is then developed with ionized toner to render the same visible.
