摘要: An exhaust control system for a 2-cycle engine having at least one combustion cylinder with a longitudinal axis comprises a main exhaust passage and an exhaust sub-passage communicating with the cylinder through respective main and sub-exhaust ports. The sub-port is located laterally of and in spaced relationship to the main exhaust port and further lies in a common plane arranged perpendicular to the cylinder axis. A control means is included which varies the degree of opening of the exhaust sub-passage in accordance with engine speed whereby timing of the ports is not altered.

摘要: A two-cycle, spark ignition engine is improved in order to eliminate the need for the typical reed valves and carburetor, while eliminating the carbon build-up inherent in mixing of the lubricant with the fuel mixture. Fuel and air are injected into the combustion chamber, and oil is injected into the crankcase, while eliminating communication therebetween. The improvement may be provided as a retrofit kit, for the standard two cycle engine, or the original casting of the engine may include the required modifications.

摘要: The two-cycle internal combustion engine includes an engine block having a cylindrical wall defining a cylinder having a head end, a piston mounted for reciprocative movement in the cylinder, and a passage in the engine block, such as an exhaust passage, a transfer passage, or a crankcase fuel intake passage, terminating at the cylinder wall in a port, such as an exhaust port, a transfer port or a piston-controlled, crankcase fuel intake port, having upper and lower edges. A valve mounted in the passage for movement relative to the port is operable to selectively vary the effective distance of one of the port edges from the cylinder head end and thereby provide the capability of varying the timing of the port opening and/or closing as required to obtain optimum engine performance at different operating conditions.

摘要: A two-stroke cycle diesel engine having at least one two-stroke cycle power cylinder-piston assembly incorporating uniflow scavenging and having two horizontally opposed pistons, at least first and second scavenging ports and two crankcases which may perform crankcase compression; a pump assembly including at least one scavenging pump cylinder-piston assembly of the reciprocating type which is separate from and is driven by the power cylinder-piston assembly; a scavenging air introducing device which introduces scavenging air compressed by the pump assembly to the first and the second scavenging ports through first and second passage systems, respectively; and a fume generating device incorporated in the second passage system and supplying fuel mist in an initial part of the air supplied through the second passage system; wherein the fume is supplied as stratified with exhaust gases so as to be heated by the exhaust gases toward decomposition and then the first passage system is interrupted before the pump assembly reaches its top dead center so that thereafter the scavenging air compressed by the pump assembly is all supplied to the second scavenging port thereby generating strong swirl flows in the power cylinder.

摘要: A cylinder for a reciprocating piston has a depending cup-like extension leading into the firing chamber, and this extension provides a mounting for a valve accomplishing both inlet of fuel and scavenging of exhaust gases. The valve has a longitudinal bore through which the fuel is admitted to the firing chamber. The top wall of the piston has a tubular baffle extending in a direction opposite from the skirt portion of the piston to protect the cylinder from solid particles.

摘要: Disclosed is a complementary analog and digital method for controlling ignition of a gasoline engine. First, analog ignition is performed by means of an analog trigger circuit. After power has been steadily supplied to a microcontroller, the microcontroller disconnects the analog trigger circuit, starts to collect a digital trigger reference signal and turn on a digital trigger circuit, and switches to a digital signal to trigger ignition. Also disclosed is a complementary analog and digital system for controlling ignition of a gasoline engine.

摘要: A six-stroke engine includes a cylinder, a piston, a cylinder head, a combustion chamber, cylinder injector, a spark plug, an intake port, an exhaust port, an intake valve, an exhaust valve, a valve gear, and a control device. The valve gear operates the intake valve and the exhaust valve to execute six strokes including an intake stroke, a compression stroke without ignition, an expansion stroke without combustion, a compression stroke with ignition, an expansion stroke with combustion, and an exhaust stroke in this order. The control device is programmed to cause the cylinder injector to inject fuel and to energize the spark plug in the compression stroke with ignition.
