Abstract:
A paint roller cover includes a cylindrical core and a liquid applying medium coupled to the core. The core has an inner surface and an opposite outer surface. The core includes at least one gap between the inner surface and the outer surface.
Abstract:
A faux finishing device including a paint roller having a core defined along a central axis. The core has an aperture therethrough that is aligned along the central axis. The device also has one or more roller bodies attached to the exterior surface of the core. Each body has an exterior surface that allows the device to create a random pattern when the body is coated with paint and placed in contact with a surface to be painted.
Abstract:
Roller covers and methods for manufacturing such roller covers are disclosed. According to one method, a paint carrying medium is secured to a core material to form a composite material having at least one core layer and a paint-carrying layer, wherein the composite material has opposite edges. The opposite edges are positioned adjacent to one another and are secured together. According to an alternative method, a paint-carrying medium having a backing is provided. The backing is treated to an adhering state and is applied to a core while the backing is in the adhering state. According to yet another method, a paint-carrying medium having a backing including opposite edges is provided. The opposite edges are positioned adjacent to one another and are secured to one another. According to an alternative embodiment, a roller cover includes a paint-carrying medium and a core supporting the paint-carrying medium. The core includes a plurality of layers wherein at least two of the plurality of layers have different characteristics.
Abstract:
A paint roller (10) has a paint applicator (12), two holder mounts an applicator holder (14). The paint applicator (12) has a cylindrical outer surface and two opposite ends (18a, 18b). The two holder mounts, respectively associated with the two opposite ends (18a, 18b), each has a base surface (24) and a journal (26) that protrudes from the surface (24) away from the paint applicator (12). The applicator holder (14) has a handle (40) and a fork (42) with opposite sides (44,48) that each has a journal engagement portion (48,50). In a preferred embodiment, each of the holder mounts has holder abutments (30) that protrude from the surface (24) away from the paint applicator (12). In an alternate embodiment, the applicator holder (14) has applicator abutments that protrude from mount abutment surfaces of each of two journal engagement portions towards the paint applicator (12).
Abstract:
A roller frame handle including an external diameter such size as to allow connection into the internal diameter of a receiving extension pole. The connection locking into position by a spring button device. The roller frame handle forming the inner portion of the connection and the receiving extension pole forming the outer portion of the connection.
Abstract:
A frame for holding a paint roller including a body, a shiftable arm coupled to the body, and a biasing mechanism operable to automatically shift the shiftable arm relative to the body when actuated.
Abstract:
Abstract of DisclosureA paint roller assembly is disclosed as including a handle that is configured for use with a variety of extension poles, each requiring a different type of connection with the handle. The handle includes a pole connector socket extending inwardly from one end thereof that is designed to receive a number of different pole connectors. The illustrated socket is provided with a tapered wall section and a circumferential groove, with the former being configured to provide a press fit attachment between the handle and connector and the latter being configured to provide a snap fit attachment between the handle and the connector. The illustrated handle is particularly designed to alternatively attach to a pole connector for use with the standard externally threaded pole, a unique connector configured specifically for use with pole having a unique push-button locking mechanism, and a tapered connector used with extension poles predominantly in Europe, although various other connectors adapted for press or snap fit attachment with the handle may be used.
Abstract:
A paint application system configured for applying paint to the interior surfaces within a gap between spaced-apart boards. The system typically includes a disk, or disks, extending radially from an outer surface of a cylindrical paint roller. Also included may be a paint wring-out device having grooves or slots for squeezing excess paint from the disk, or disks.
Abstract:
A frame for holding a paint roller including a body, a shiftable arm coupled to the body, and a biasing mechanism operable to automatically shift the shiftable arm relative to the body when actuated.
Abstract:
A paint roller apparatus for applying paint to a painted surface includes a rotating accessory arm. The rotating accessory arm is rotatably mounted on a handle of the paint roller apparatus such that the accessory arm rotates between a first position wherein an accessory or the accessory arm is substantially proximate to a cylindrical roller of the paint roller apparatus and a second position where the accessory arm is at an angle of substantially ninety degrees to a plane defined by the longitudinal axes of the handle and the roller. A switch assembly located on the handle provides for rotation of the accessory arm with minimal effort on the part of the user. The switch assembly may include a locking mechanism to lock the accessory arm into the first position and second position so that the accessory arm does not rotate inadvertently.
