Abstract: The invention relates to a drill chuck which has a drilling needle receptacle device for removable receiving of a drilling needle (1), a hollow cylindrical magnetic holder for the drilling needle receptacle device and a coupling device for torque transfer from a drive device to the drilling needle receptacle device. The drilling needle receptacle device, in which a drilling needle (1) having a flattened end section (1′) can be received, has a receptacle element (7), at least two clamping bodies (10) and a clamping insert (6). The receptacle element (7) has at least one cylindrical section (72) having a recess (71) and the clamping insert (6) has counter-molded bodies (61) which supplement the clamping bodies (10) and which extend away from a stop disc (62). The stop disc (62) contacts a face of the cylindrical section (72) and has a lead-through opening (63) for the drilling needle (1). The counter-molded body (61) and the clamping bodies (10) are designed in respect of the dimensions and shape thereof for arrangement in the recess (71) and for clamping receiving of the flattened end section (1′) of the drilling needle (1) between the clamping bodies (10) and the counter-molded bodies (61). The invention further relates to a drilling needle and to a drilling needle-drill chuck assembly.

Abstract: A manually actuated robotic tool changer comprises master and tool units, each adapted to be connected to a different one of a robotic arm and a robotic tool. The tool changer includes a plurality of rolling members retained in one of the units and a piston mounted in one of the units and moveable in an axial direction. The piston includes a multi-faceted cam surface including an initial contact surface, a locking surface, and a failsafe surface interposed between the initial contact surface and the locking surface. When the piston is in a locked position in the tool changer, the cam surface is operative to contact the rolling members in one of the units and to urge each rolling member against a surface of the other unit to couple the master and tool units together.

Abstract: A hand-held tool for use as a powered drill or screw driver, has a chuck for holding a tool bit, and the chuck is replaceable without employing another tool. A conically shaped shaft section on a rotary spindle fits into a conically shaped bore in a socket section of a part of the chuck. The shaft section and chuck part are secured together by clamping members held in place by a spring. The interconnection affords concentricity and true runout. The rotary spindle is provided with a recess or groove in its outer surface. The groove has an inclined flank closer to the front end of the spindle and the clamping members is biased by the spring against the flank. The spring is displaceable by a gripping sleeve between the biasing position and a released position.

Abstract: A keyless chuck adapted to grip an object, such as a drill bit, is disclosed. The keyless chuck includes a cylindrical body provided with an axially extending tapered bore. The surface of the tapered bore includes first and second cam surfaces. A control sleeve is provided surrounding at least a portion of the cylindrical body and is adapted for controlled axial movement relative to the cylindrical body. A retaining element is attached to the control sleeve and partially closes one end of the cylindrical body. A thrust bearing is provided in the retaining element. Gripping elements are positioned within the tapered bore and are adapted to engage and grip the tool when the tool is inserted between the gripping elements. A thrust bearing is positioned in the retaining element which operatively engages the gripping elements. A spring retains the gripping elements in contact with the tapered bore and also with the thrust bearing wherein, upon axial movement of the control sleeve relative to the cylindrical body, the gripping elements move axially within the tapered bore in contact with the first cam means, thereby causing radial movement of the gripping elements and wherein, upon rotation of the cylindrical body relative to the gripping elements, the gripping elements shift along the surface of the second cam and thereby also cause radial movement of the gripping elements.
