    摘要: A fastener for highly curved access panels on aircraft or other structures, featuring a bottom-grasping design allowing for an unblemished outer panel surface, simple and rapid pneumatic fastener actuation, built-in clamping pre-load, and full retractability of the fastener inside the supporting structure. The fastener includes a Belleville spring with a piston centrally disposed therein, where the piston and spring deflect outward upon application of pneumatic pressure. A pressure chamber within the piston has inlet and outlet orifices designed so that the pressure in the piston chamber gradually increases, requiring several seconds to reach a pressure which causes locking dogs in the piston to deploy radially into a cavity in the access panel. When pressure is removed, the Belleville spring relaxes, the locking dogs grasp a lip of the cavity, and the access panel is latched onto the structure with a clamping pre-load. A pneumatic sequence for unlatching is also provided.

    摘要: An automotive glove box latch incorporates a two point drop pawl structure where the pawls operate in unison (in parallel) in response to the operation of an activation button or paddle, positioned away (disparate) from the pawls and at the side of the glove box. The pawls are mounted within a housing which extends across the glove box door to which the latch housing is mounted. A spring biased lock-plate operates within the housing and is connected to the activation button for movement in response thereto. A pair of step-up gears is positioned within the housing. Each is driven by the lock plate to thereby impart movement to a respective one of the pawls through an engagement with rack teeth carried on each pawl. The lock-plate implements this function with a pair of rack teeth tracks carried thereon, one rack tooth track for engaging a respective one of the step-up gears.

In order to develop a lock of the generic type in such a way that the means for preventing incorrect operation performs reliably both when there is a small rebate clearance and when there is a large rebate clearance it is suggested that the sensing element is mounted in a pivotally movable manner on a slide which can be displaced transversely in relation to the direction in which the lock case front extends, which slide has a release for the blocking member and can be displaced further inward beyond the pushed position reached with the respective pivoted end position of the sensing element.

    摘要: A substantial disadvantage of known three-point bolt locks is their limited usability. Thus, all known locks are either so-called nullhandle-operatednull locks or nullkey-operatednull locks, i.e. locks in which the latch bolt and/or at least the additional bolts are retracted and extended by means of a handle or a key. An alternative use of known locks for nullkey operationnull or nullhandle operationnull is not possible. The invention relates to a novel multipoint lock bolt which, when installed in a door or in a gate, can be set by relatively simple positioning or adjustment of a functional element either for handle operation or key operation. A further development of the invention envisages providing the lock according to the invention with a two-part follower whose halves are superposed in the axial direction. Furthermore, the invention is distinguished by a novel lock advance mechanism, a novel tumbler and a likewise novel panic function which, in the event of danger, permits easy and fast opening of a locked safety door from the inside.

    摘要: A door lock assembly is provided for secure multipoint locking of a door. The lock assembly comprises a main lock cartridge in combination with one or more remote secondary lock cartridges mounted at one side edge of a door, with the main lock cartridge having an actuator for manipulating a plurality of lock members. In one preferred form for use with a hinged or swinging door, the lock members comprise a plurality of latch bolts movable to a first extended position for normal door latching, or to a second and further extended position to function as multiple deadbolts. In an alternate preferred form for use with a sliding door, the lock members comprise headed latch pins for engaging .keeper plates on the adjacent door jamb. In either embodiment, the door jamb may comprise the adjacent side edge of a second or semi-active door in a double door entry set, wherein the second door desirably includes a header-sill lock assembly which is maintained in a positively locked condition unless the adjacent door is opened.

    摘要: A locking system for a door for use in conjunction with a commonly available locking mechanism has an interconnecting rod attached to one end of the primary sliding bolt of the locking mechanism, and at the other end to a pivoted link. A draw bar extends from the pivoted link to other pivoted links that are each attached to an additional sliding bolt. As the primary sliding bolt is extended outwardly from the edge of the door via the locking mechanism, the interconnecting rod communicates this motion via the pivoted links and draw bar to each of the other sliding bolts, thereby causing these sliding bolts to extend from the edge of the door in a like manner. Similarly, as the primary sliding bolt is retracted, the reverse process occurs and the secondary sliding bolts retract into the edge of the door. As this system ultilizes a pre-existing locking mechanism mounted in a standard location on the door, a conventional door locking mechanism augmented by the secondary locking system of the present invention becomes strengthened while advantageously remaining inconspicuous.
