A pigment mixture comprising (a) pigment particles, (b) colloidal spacer particles dispersed on surfaces of the pigment particles, and (c) carrier particles, wherein the pigment particles with colloidal spacer particles are dispersed on surfaces of the carrier particles. A pigment mixture of titanium dioxide pigment particles having colloidal silica spacer particles on surfaces of the titanium dioxide, the titanium dioxide and colloidal silica attached to surfaces of diatomaceous earth carrier particles, provides improved optical efficiency of the pigment and improved retention in a paper fiber matrix.
Abstract:
A coated particle comprising a lithium titanate particle core encased by a polyimide coating, an electrode comprising a plurality of polyimide coated LTO particles an electro-active material, and a lithium ion battery comprising an anode, a cathode, a separator and electrolyte wherein the anode comprises a plurality of polyimide coated LTO particles. The polyimide coating effectively reduces the amount of gas formation typically encountered with use of lithium titanate in electrochemical cells.
Abstract:
A preparation method of carbon modified filler is provided. The method is: putting the fillers into the reaction zone of a reactor, starting the first heating-up to 400-500° C. under the protective atmosphere at first, then introducing hydrogen after the heating-up; starting the second heating-up to 600-1200° C. after introducing hydrogen and simultaneously introducing the mixture of hydrogen and carbon source gas, keeping at the terminal temperature for 0.1-5 hours, introducing nitrogen and stopping heating after the reaction, cooling, and then getting the carbon modified filler. The above method can obtain a friction material with good mechanical properties, excellent friction and wear performances, stable friction coefficient at high temperature, good braking force and no heat recession.
Abstract:
The invention is a coating composition comprising photocatalytic titanium dioxide particles, an opacifying agent, a silicone compound, de-HNO3 particles, styrene resin hollow microspheres, and a solvent. The combination of a silicone compound and styrene resin hollow microspheres in a depolluting coating composition results in improved opacity and durability compared to conventional coatings.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the surface treatment of inorganic pigment particles with agglomerates of fine primary particles or single crystals of inorganic compounds, particularly of oxides or sulphates. The method is characterized in that the inorganic compounds are first precipitated from an aqueous solution under suitable pH conditions in a separate vessel in the form of fluffily structured agglomerates and/or single crystals. The precipitation product is subsequently added to an aqueous suspension of inorganic pigment particles. The method is particularly suitable for the surface treatment of titanium dioxide particles, in order to achieve high hiding power or high opacity when used in emulsion paints or laminates.
