摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: an operating unit configured to display an operation screen, and accept a user operation; a conveying unit configured to convey a sheet along a path to one of a plurality of discharge destinations; an image forming unit configured to form an image on the sheet moving in the path; and a control unit configured to identify a conveyance destination, and cause the conveying unit to convey the sheet to the conveyance destination, wherein, when a jam in the path is detected, the control unit causes the conveying unit to suspend sheet conveyance, and causes the operating unit to display a select screen for selecting a purge destination and accept a purge destination selected by a user, and the control unit identifies a sheet to be moved to the purge destination, and causes the conveying unit to convey the sheet to the purge destination.

摘要: A conveyor apparatus, including: a tray; a feeder; a conveyance path; a conveyor; an upstream sensor; a downstream sensor; and a controller, wherein when it is determined that one certain recording medium has not yet reached a downstream detecting position of the downstream sensor at a time point when a first predetermined time elapses and the trailing edge of the recording medium has passed an upstream detecting position of the upstream sensor, the controller determines that a conveyance error is due to one of: a jam of the recording medium occurred in the conveyance path; and a slippage caused between the conveyor and the recording medium, if a medium length is less than a spacing distance between the upstream and downstream detecting positions while the controller determines that the conveyance error is due to the slippage if the medium length is equal to or larger than the spacing distance.

摘要: Disclosed is a thermal print apparatus including a medium detection sensor arranged from a thermal head at a distance shorter than an outer circumferential length of the platen roller, and a controller. The controller determines that the print medium is wrapped around the platen roller if the print medium is not detected by the medium detection sensor even when the print medium is fed by a feed amount at which the leading edge of the print medium reaches the medium detection sensor after starting of printing on the print medium. In this case, the print medium is fed backward by reversely rotating the platen roller.

摘要: A sheet transfer assembly is provided for transferring a sheet from a supplying conveyor to a receiving conveyor. The receiving conveyor includes a transport belt having a support surface for supporting the sheet on a contact side of the sheet. The supplying conveyor is arranged for advancing the sheet in a transport direction towards the receiving conveyor. The sheet transfer assembly includes a sheet guidance element arranged downstream of the supplying conveyor in the transport direction for guiding the sheet towards the receiving conveyor, the sheet guidance element includes a guidance surface for supporting the sheet at its contact side; wherein the guidance surface includes two guide faces. Both guide faces extending in the transport direction over the support surface of the transport belt and being cooperatively arranged for supporting both side edge portions at the sides of the sheet in a lateral direction, which is substantially perpendicular to the transport direction, thereby forming a space in between one another allowing a middle portion of the sheet to move towards the support surface of the transport belt.

摘要: When a jam is detected in a post-processing device, a purge controller first makes a conveyance roller group and a reverse roller continue conveyance. The purge controller then sets the conveyance destination of a leading sheet that will first arrive at a branch point after the time of detection of the jam. When a first condition is satisfied the purge controller sets the conveyance destination to a reverse slot, and when a second condition is satisfied the purge controller sets the conveyance destination to an outlet path. The first condition is satisfied when no other sheet is present in the reverse slot at the time of detection of the jam, and the second condition is satisfied when another sheet is present in the reverse slot at the time of detection of the jam.

摘要: An apparatus for defect detection in a printing system, comprising a sensor device for sensing a surface of a sheet and for generating data representing a height map of the sheet, and a processor device for processing the data from the sensor device, wherein the processor device is configured to analyze the height map to detect a presence of a deformation in the sheet. The processor device is further configured to, when a deformation is detected, to determine at least one property of the deformation, to classify the deformation with respect to a plurality of deformation classes by means of the at least one property of the deformation, and to determine a suitability of the sheet for printing based on the deformation class wherein the deformation has been classified.

摘要: A medium feeding device includes a device body, a tray that regulates and contains a plurality of kinds of media of different sizes in a loading area according to the sizes of the media, and a detection lever that detects whether or not the media are properly loaded in the tray. In a state in which the tray is contained in the device body, when the media are not properly loaded in the tray, the detection lever moves to a non-load detection position. When the media are properly loaded in the tray, the detection lever moves to a load detection position with a front end part being oriented toward the tray containing side, and when a pressing force is applied to the detection lever at the non-load detection position from the tray containing side, the detection lever retreats toward the tray pulling out side.
