    摘要: A low profile holding tank-evacuable to a pressure differential of at least about 10″ of mercury that includes a plurality of support structures, a peripheral wall, an upper outer layer of mild steel and a lower outer layer of mild steel, each of the upper outer layer and the lower outer layer is configured to be up to about ¼ inches thick. At least some of the plurality of support structures are required to be fixedly connected to upper and lower outer layers to prevent damages incurred on the low profile holding tank by repeated applications of the pressure differential of at least about 10″ of mercury. At least some of the connections are required to be made from the outside of the tank via a welding, e.g., plug welding, technique.

    摘要: A quasi-cylindrical cargo container is formed of a plurality of rigid, curved panels together forming first and second semi-cylindrical shells, and a plurality of rigid, flat extension panels bridging the first and second semi-cylindrical shells. A method of manufacturing the container includes forming the first and second semi-cylindrical shell from the curved panels, forming the quasi-cylindrical shell from the first and second semi-cylindrical shells and the flat extension panels, forming collars conformably encompassing the quasi-cylindrical shell, constricting the collars to compress joints formed at abutting edges of pairs of adjacent panels, rolling the shell and collars sequentially to bring the joints to a lower position, welding inside seams of the joints when at the lower position, removing the collars, rolling the shell sequentially to bring the joints to an upper position, and welding outside seams of the joints when at the upper position.

The embodiments described herein provide a significant weight savings for all cargo containers, modern present-day composite containers included.

    摘要: Telescopic containers (10, 100) for containing fluids associated with hydrocarbon production are disclosed. Such containers (10, 100) may comprise a lower container section (12), an upper container section (14) moveable between a retracted position and an extended position in a telescopic manner relative to the lower container section (12) and a sealing member (40, 50). The sealing member (40, 50) prevents or substantially prevents leakage of fluid from the container (10, 100) between the upper container section (14) and the lower container section (12). The lower container section (12) may define an elongated and/or multi-sided shape.
