摘要： A pair of scissors having a pair of looped handles has a clip such as a carabiner-style inwardly-opening gate mounted on the outer-most perimeter of one or both of the looped handles. Where the clip is a carabiner, the distal end of each gate, distal from the gates hinge, is oppositely disposed relative to the fulcrum of the pair of scissors. The non-gate portion of each of the looped handles containing a gate includes a hooked portion adjacent the distal end of each gate. The hooked portion includes a stop to limit movement of the gate. A resilient loop is mounted around the levers of the scissors between the handles and fulcrum so as to urge the scissors closed.

摘要： Apparatus 10 provides a combination scissor 18 and lighter 20 for the cutting and sealing of braided synthetic hair 14 made up of a cutting implement having two blades 22, 24 joined by a swivel pin 26 having handles 28, 30 at one distal end. One of the handles 28 has a chamber 36 therein for storing a quantity of a combustible substance therein. The chamber 36 has an input valve 44 for refilling the chamber and an output valve communicating with a conduit 46 extending through the blade 22 to the other distal end. Also located within the handle 28 and extending therefrom is an igniter switch 40 which when depressed opens the output valve on the chamber permitting the combustible substance to escape through the conduit to the distal end 32 of the blade 22. Work in concert with the opening of the valve is an igniter to send a spark to the end of the distal end 32 of the blade 22 whereby the combustible fluid is ignited.

摘要： A binding cutter for severing bindings such as wire, nylon or other tightly tensioned materials is disclosed. The cutter is provided with enclosed gripping and cutting portions supported within the jaws of the cutter. The outer faces of the jaws including camming surfaces extending from jaw tips to enable easy gripping of the wire to be cut, such that when the cutter is closed in the direction of the cutting action, the wire is urged up and away from the backing board into the concavity defined by the jaws and supported for gripping by gripping portions and cutting by cutting blades into the relatively small, confined concavity. The inventive apparatus thus is readily used for snaring tightly tensioned package bindings of most any material, and the bindings supported by the internal gripping portions are supported to enable a clean, severing cut.

摘要： Provided herein is an illuminating nail clipper for clipping the nails of an animal such as a dog, cat, bird, or the like which allows for the clipping of an individual nail at the desired length to prevent injury or improper length cutting for the animal. The device includes a hand-actuated clipping blade used in conjunction with an adjustable in size nail holder which includes a cutting hole and which allows the nail to be clipped to be firmly held at a particular position relative to the nail cutting blade. Using an appropriate diameter aperture of the cutting hole, the animal nail may be inserted in an aperture of size sufficient to permit the nail to penetrate a particular distance based on the diameter size of the nail, which is tapered. A light source disposed on a flexible arm or conduit can be provided to illuminate an animal's nail to make it translucent, allowing the operator to see the capillaries within the nail and thus to avoid cutting to the live portion of the nail. In addition, the invention includes a comfortable, ergonomic grip which allows the handles to rest more comfortably and securely in the operator's hand.
