The method includes providing a buoyant member and a stem guide configured to receive the buoyant member, mounting the buoyant member to the stem guide and cutting the buoyant member. The buoyant member is made of a material capable of being severed by a cutting device and having first length, a lower end, and an upper end. The stem guide receives the buoyant member and a fishing line with fishing tackle. The buoyant member is cut such that the buoyant member has a second length shorter than the first length. The buoyant member is cut to a second length such that the buoyancy of the buoyant member when cut to a second length is enough to oppose the tendency of the stem guide and fishing tackle to submerse the buoyant member such that a top surface of the cut buoyant member is adjacent to the surface of the water when the stem guide, buoyant member, fishing line and any fishing tackle are placed in the water.

The configuration of the dual conical bores in relation to each other and in relation to the linear axis of the apparatus, lends itself to different purposes and different methods of securing different fishing tackle articles to the connection apparatus. With the use of a simple linear connector, two connection apparatuses may be adjoined to allow fishing lines of different sizes to be connected.

摘要： A fish hook allows quick connection/disconnection to a fishing lure. A loop is formed and a tag portion extends beyond the contact point of the loop. The tag portion is inserted though a ring of a fishing lure. The contact point of the loop is sprung apart as the ring is slid onto the loop. When the ring is past the contact point the loop ‘snaps’ back into contact. In a second embodiment two opposing ‘j’ hooks are aligned forming an eye of the fish hook. A user applies force on the shafts supporting the ‘j’ hooks causing the two ‘j’ hooks to move in opposing directions and exposing the ends of the ‘j’ hooks. An end of one of the ‘j’ hooks is then inserted through a ring of a fishing lure. The ring is slid onto a shaft and the force released on the shafts released.

The longitudinal bore and slot in the bushing also enable the bushing to be compressed to fit securely into the body of the attachment body, thereby preventing the attachment body and bushing assembly from becoming unintentionally separated from the fishing line. The preferred embodiment of the invention further comprises a rib on the outside surface of the bushing that prevents rotational movement of the bushing vis-à-vis the attachment body.

摘要： A jig for tying Bimini twists has two fishing line sections. The first section, which extends from the second section, has clip attachments near its end for retaining the fishing line to be tied. Similarly, the second section has a clip attachment near its end also, for retaining the fishing line. The second section also has outwardly extending arm members, slotted at their ends and held in position by a spring which creates a compressive force within the second section. An adjustable nut and bolt against which the spring provides the compressive force, is used to adjustably move the arms inward and outward in relation to the second section. While the jig can be constructed as one unitary member with first and second sections, it is contemplated that the sections would be separable and that the first section would extend out of the second section. Additionally, a fishing line extension component is provided for tying Bimini twists for larger loops. The extension is stored within the first and second sections when not in use.

The lure is preferably made with a resilient material which tends to return to its original closed shape after manual manipulation to insert a fishing line into a slit in the lure. In another embodiment, a substantially linear slot is provided through the lure for passage therethrough of a fishing line, and the lure is provided with helical spring shaped line guides for encircling and thereby attaching the lure to the fishing line.
