Abstract: A first network device may receive, from a second network device, a first policy control create request and may provide, to the second network device, a common policy control request trigger. The first network device may receive a second policy control create request associated with a user equipment (UE) and may cause a UE policy to be provided to the UE. The first network device may receive, from a third network device, a third policy control create request and may provide a network device policy to the third network device. The first network device may receive, from the second network device, a policy control update request based on the common policy control request trigger and may generate an updated UE policy or an updated network device policy based on the policy control update request.

Abstract: An improved cellular network architecture enables the distribution of Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive state to devices in a core network. A mobility manager receives subscription requests from core network devices requesting notification of user equipment (UE) transitions to RRC Inactive states. Upon receiving an RRC transition report for a UE that indicates a transition to an RRC Inactive state, the mobility manager publishes an event including data representing the RRC inactive state and a UE identifier. Subscribing network elements receive this event and can adjust operations accordingly, including temporarily suspending operations until a further RRC state change.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device of a network may receive, from a user equipment (UE), a request associated with enabling the UE to access a network, wherein the request includes a first routing indicator. The device may identify an authentication manager, of the network, that is mapped to the first routing indicator in an entry of a routing table of the network. The device may route the request to the authentication manager of the network to permit the authentication manager to authenticate the UE. The device may purge, based on the request being routed to the authentication manager, the entry to remove the first routing indicator from the routing table. The device may store, after purging the entry, a second routing indicator in the entry to map the second routing indicator to the authentication manager, wherein the second routing indicator is different from the first routing indicator.

Abstract: A device may receive, from a network device, a user equipment (UE) parameter update request notification indicating an update to a UE parameter of a universal subscriber identity module (USIM), and may generate an encrypted UE parameter update request. The device may cause the encrypted UE parameter update request to be provided to the USIM to cause the USIM to update the UE parameter and to generate an encrypted UE parameter update response. The device may receive, from the network device, the encrypted UE parameter update response, and may verify an authenticity of content of the encrypted UE parameter update response based on whether the encrypted UE parameter update response is signed by the USIM. The device may provide, to the network device, a result indicating whether the UE parameter is updated and whether the authenticity of the content of the encrypted UE parameter update response is verified.

Abstract: A device may receive data indicating a required quality of service (QoS), and may receive radio access network (RAN) information associated with a RAN, wherein the RAN information is provided by a centralized unit (CU) of the RAN. The device may provide the RAN information to a multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform, and may receive, from the MEC platform, a QoS request that requests the required QoS. The device may provide the QoS request to the CU, and may receive a QoS response to the QoS request. The device may provide the QoS response to a policy control function (PCF) of a core network, and may receive an indication of approval of the QoS response from the PCF. The device may cause, based on receiving the indication of approval, the required QoS to be implemented by the MEC platform and network devices associated with the core network.
