Abstract:
An image duplicating apparatus has a mode of copying operation of two consecutive cycles and includes an image duplicator module for reproducing on a copying sheet a visible image duplicated from an original image on a document sheet. A document feed module for automatically feeding a document sheet to and from a position enabling the image duplicator module to reproduce the visible image on a copying sheet is included as is a paper recirculation unit for receiving from the image duplicator module the copying sheet on which the visible image has been reproduced during an earlier cycle of copying operation. The paper recirculation unit is operative to recirculate the copying sheet towards the image duplicator module during the later cycle of copying operation. Any difference is detected between the number of copying sheets received by the paper recirculation unit during the earlier cycle of copying operation and the number of copying sheets recirculated from the paper recirculation unit during the latter cycle of copying operation so as to produce a signal when the difference is detected upon completion of two consecutive cycles of copying operation. In response to such a signal, the document feed module may be disabled from feeding a document sheet to the position enabling the image duplicator module to reproduce the visible image on a copying sheet.
Abstract:
A copying apparatus, having an editing function, charges a rotating photoconductive drum 61 by chargers 63 and 65 and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductive drum 61 by projecting an image of a document on the drum 61, whereby the electrostatic latent image is developed by toner. An erasure array 4 including LED elements is provided close to the photoconductive drum 61. In an edit copy mode, data for specifying a region to be copied on the document is inputted by using keys on an operation panel. As a result, the erasure array 4 removes the electric charge on a region of the photoconductive drum 61 corresponding to the specified region prior to exposure, whereby the electrostatic latent image can be prevented from being formed on this region. At this time, a control apparatus controls the extent of emission of light of the erasure array 4 and the timing for the emission of light of the erasure array 4 based on the input data, thereby to prevent occurrence of deviation in boundary portions of the region defined in the edit copy mode.
Abstract:
A copying apparatus of the present invention is capable of executing, for example, a duplex-simplex copy mode wherein images on both sides of an original are respectively copied on one side of a different copy paper and a simplex-simplex copy mode wherein an original with an image on one side is copied to one side of a single copy paper. The copying apparatus is further capable of executing a shift mode for controlling the relative position between the images on the original and those on the copy paper if the original represents a binding margin in the duplex-simplex copy mode. This shift mode is released when the simplex-simplex copy mode is selected.
Abstract:
A copying machine capable of forming filing margins on both sides of a copying paper forms a filing margin on one side of a copying paper by an ordinary method in which an image of document to be copied is reduced and shifted, and forms a filing margin on the other side of the copying paper by means of shifting the image in a direction opposite to the direction shifted in the ordinary method by the width of the filing margin. Accordingly, filing margins are correctly formed on both sides of the copying paper in the same marginal sides, respectively.
Abstract:
An image processing system having operating and stand-by modes of operation which are to be selectively put into effect, including a plurality of slave data processors each operative to execute a set of predetermined functions assigned thereto, a master data processor for controlling the operation of each data processor, the master data processor being operative to output a data processing command requesting any of the slave data processors to execute any of the predetermined functions assigned to the slave data processor and a control command predominant over the communication of data dictating the operation of each slave data processor, and an interface bus providing connection between the master data processor and each slave data processor for allowing transmission therethrough of the data processing command and the control command to any of the slave data processors, the master data processor being operative to detect a state in which the master data processor is currently coupled to any one of the slave data processors through the interface bus to allow transmission of the data processing command or the communication control command to the particular one of the slave data processor, wherein, in an operating mode of operation of the system, the data processing command or the control command is distributed through the interface bus exclusively to the particular slave data processor which is detected to be currently coupled to the master data processor.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus such as a copying machine includes an image forming section for forming an image on a sheet of paper. In the image forming apparatus, a paper supporting member supports a stack of papers, and an elevator is provided for raising and lowering the paper supporting member. Further, a paper feeder feeds a sheet of paper from the paper supporting member to the image forming section. When an operation key is depressed, the image forming section is instructed to start forming an image. A controller controls the image forming section to form an image on a sheet of paper when the paper feeder can feed a sheet of paper if the operation key is depressed during rising of the paper supporting member.
Abstract:
In an automatic power turn-off apparatus, a signal for turning off power supply is outputted from a timer IC when time set by a power-off time setting key arrives, whereby the power supply of an associated copying apparatus is turned off. In the turn-off period, if an MPU determines that the copying apparatus is in trouble, the turn-off of the power supply is cancelled and the occurrence of the trouble in the copying apparatus is displayed in a display device to notify the user of the trouble.
Abstract:
A program replacement device is incorporated in a computer system having a CPU and a program memory in which first programs to be executed by the CPU are stored. The program replacement device includes a RAM employed as the program memory and having a write enable terminal, and a protection circuit interposed between the write enable terminal of the program memory and a write signal outputted from the CPU. The protection circuit includes a push switch for instructing program replacement with respect to the program memory, a pulse generating circuit for generating a pulse signal having a given time interval in response to an instruction from the push switch, and a gate circuit for making, only when the pulse signal is generated, the write signal outputted from the CPU valid with respect to the write enable terminal of the program memory. The program replacement device further includes an interruption generating circuit for generating in the CPU an interruption required to write second programs in the program memory in response to the instruction from the instruction section, thereby replacing the first programs by the second programs.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus having a document transporting mechanism which transports documents one by one from a document feed tray, to the exposure location on a platen and which prefeeds the next document to a position before the platen, and a control mechanism which in response to an instruction of stopping the image form operation controls the operation of the document transporting mechanism so as to transport a document prefed to the position before the platen, in a predetermined direction. When a trouble occurs in the main body of the image forming apparatus during the image forming operation and the stop instruction is issued, a document on the platen is immediately transported to a document discharge tray, and also a document which has been prefed to the position before the platen is transported to a predetermined position (onto the platen, the document discharge tray or the document feed tray). The prefed document is not left stand in a loop state for a long period of time, thereby preventing a document from having a tendency to curl and a document jam from occurring.
