    Abstract: A method of generating a data set includes determining a vertex count of a reference polygonal mesh, generating a second polygonal mesh by adding a predetermined number of vertices to the reference polygonal mesh, comparing a representation of the second polygonal mesh with a representation of the reference polygonal mesh, assigning a first value of a quality parameter to the reference polygonal mesh, and assigning a second value of the quality parameter to the second polygonal mesh based on the comparison of the representations, the value of the quality parameter for a given polygonal mesh indicative of a degree of difference between a representation of the given polygonal mesh and a representation of the reference polygonal mesh, and generating the data set comprising data indicative of a vertex count for the reference and second polygonal meshes and a value of a quality parameters for the reference and second polygonal meshes.

    Abstract: A system for generating an input signal for a video game includes: a receiving unit configured to receive a video game output signal output by a video game playing device during the playing of a video game; a reasoning model configured to determine an action to take within the video game based on the received video game output signal, the reasoning model being configured to generate a representation of the determined action that is independent of the video game; and an encoding unit configured to translate the representation into an input signal and to provide the input signal to a video game playing device at which the video game is being played, thereby causing the determined action to be performed within the video game.

    Abstract: A system for training a model to select actions to be taken by an agent within an environment, the system including: a state determination unit operable to determine a state of the environment, a latency determination unit operable to determine a latency associated with interactions between the agent and the environment, an action determination unit operable to determine one or more actions to be performed by the agent in dependence upon the state, wherein actions are determined for each of one or more latencies determined by the latency determination unit, an action evaluation unit operable to evaluate the success of each of the actions, and a generation unit operable to generate the model in dependence upon identifying correlations between the success of each of the actions and the determined latency associated with those actions, so as to identify an action to be taken by the agent in dependence upon both a determined state and a latency.
