    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a washing machine including a main body having a washing space and an opening through which clothes are inserted and withdrawn into and from the washing space, a door to open and close the opening, and a sub-washing unit to form a sub-washing space separate from the washing space and separably provided from the door. By such configuration, sub-washing may be efficiently performed, and space utilization may be improved.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a clothes dryer and a control method thereof in which a drying time is adjusted according to wool content during a drying cycle of a wool course. Wool content of woolen textiles is judged by sensing a dryness of the woolen textiles during a drying cycle of a wool course, and a drying time is adjusted according to the wool content, thereby minimizing contraction or deformation of the woolen textiles while satisfying the range of a target dryness set by wool mark standards. Further, only a high-capacity heater is driven during the drying cycle of the wool course, thereby allowing an internal temperature of a rotary drum to keep the optimum temperature without contraction or deformation of the woolen textiles.

    Abstract: A washer dryer and method for controlling the same may improve a structure of air circulation and increase dehumidification efficiency, thereby reducing drying time. A cooler fan is operated to prevent overheating of a washer dryer in the drying course, which reduces faults of the washer dryer and thus reduces user inconvenience. Overheating of the washer dryer may be prevented in advance in the washing course, which maintains washing performance and prevents delay of cooling time, leading to increased drying time accuracy and thus user satisfaction. The cooler fan is disposed on the tub to vent the air in the dryer (dry air) outside the cabinet to allow high temperature and high humidity drying, thereby increasing drying performance. A hole disposed on the bottom of the dryer sucks cool air into the inside of the dryer from the outside, and air circulation rate and dehumidification efficiency may be increased.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a washing machine, which includes a clutch unit provided to be able to selectively transmit power generated from a drive unit to a drum and a pulsator. The clutch unit includes an outer shaft that is connected to the drum at an upper side thereof and rotates the drum, an inner shaft that is located in the outer shaft, is connected to the pulsator at an upper side thereof, and rotates the pulsator, and a one-way bearing that is installed between the inner shaft and the outer shaft. The one-way bearing selectively transmits a rotating force from the outer shaft to the inner shaft according to a rotating direction of the outer shaft. With this configuration, it is possible to simplify a structure of the clutch unit and to use space efficiently.
