Abstract: The disclosure relates to 5G or pre-5G communication systems for supporting higher data transfer rates, following the 4G communication systems, such as LTE. The disclosure describes a method and a UE for sensor-based optimal antenna array switching in a wireless communication system. The method comprising: detecting at least one orientation parameter of the UE using one or more sensors of the UE, comparing a current signal strength parameter value of one or more serving Antenna Array Modules (AAMs) of the UE with a first threshold value or comparing a non-serving AAM monitor timer of the UE with a second threshold value, comparing at least one orientation parameter with a third threshold value based on the current signal strength parameter value of one or more serving AAMs being less than the first threshold value or based on the non-serving AAM monitor timer exceeding the second threshold value, performing measurements on one or more non-serving AAMs, and selecting at least the one or more serving AAMs and the one or more non-serving AAMs based on the measurements performed.

Abstract: Accordingly the embodiments herein provide a for providing a Radio Link Control (RLC) status report based on a configuration of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless network system. The method comprises detecting, at the UE, that a RLC layer is configured to an Acknowledge Mode (AM), informing, at the UE, a t-reordering timer from the PDCP entity of the UE to a RLC entity of the UE, receiving, at the UE, a first Packet Data unit (PDU) by the entity and at least one second PDU by the RLC entity, detecting, by the UE, a PDU gap when the first PDU and the second PDU are not consecutive; providing, by the UE, the RLC status report to a transmitter side of the RLC entity of a network to recover packets missed in the PDU gap based on the t-reordering timer, and recovering, by the network, the packets based on the RLC status report.

The method includes obtaining, by the UE, a reference beam pair and a first set of neighbor beam pairs in a first reception direction for connecting with a network; determining, by the UE, a change in the first reception direction, based on sensor data; identifying, by the UE, a second set of neighbor beam pairs in the changed first reception direction; measuring, by the UE, a plurality of beam parameters for neighbor beam pairs in the second set of neighbor beam pairs; determining, by the UE, an optimal beam pair from the identified second set of neighbor beam pairs based on the plurality of measured beam parameters; and configuring, by the UE, an optimal beam pair for connecting with the network.

The method comprises of checking, by an eNodeB (eNB), whether an unlicensed channel is occupied by a User Equipment (UE), initiating transmission of Redundancy Versions (RVs) corresponding to a HARQ process on the unlicensed channel if the unlicensed channel is occupied by the UE, verifying if a channel occupancy period is over and an acknowledgement for the HARQ process is received from the unlicensed channel and initiating a Redundancy Version (RV) bundling for retransmission of the bundled RVs without awaiting an acknowledgment for the HARQ process from the unlicensed channel, if the channel occupancy period is not over.

Abstract: Method and system for managing hidden node problem in a communication network. A receiving node in the system, upon receiving a data transmission request from at least one transmitting node, dynamically checks status of the channel between the transmitting node and the receiving node. If the channel is found to be clear for transmission, then the receiving node sends a message that indicates that the channel is clear, to the transmitting node, and the transmitting node starts transmitting the data. Upon receiving a message from the receiving node that the channel is not clear for transmission, then the transmitting node waits for a particular time period and attempts the connection again.
