Abstract:
A pull-tab sealing member for a container is provided combining the advantages of an insulation or foamed polymer layer for effective heat sealing together with an overall laminate structure having a higher internal strength even with the use of the foamed polymer layer. The sealing members herein are capable of withstanding higher removal forces by repositioning an internal stress point within the seal laminate structure.
Abstract:
A pull-tab sealing member for a container containing an upper laminate defining a circular segment and forming a pull-tab bonded to a lower laminate capable of being heat sealed to a container's mouth or opening. The upper laminate defines the pull tab wholly within a perimeter or circumference of the seal, but the upper laminate does not extend the full width of the sealing member in order to define the gripping tab.
Abstract:
A two-piece tabbed seal and liner as well as a method of manufacture is provided for sealing containers such as bottles, jars and the like. The two-piece tabbed seal is formed with a lower sheet-like structure having a non-foam, heat-distributing layer thereon.

Abstract:
A holographic sealing member for a container is designed for attachment to the rim of an opening in the container. The holographic sealing member comprises a holographic layer having an upper plastic layer on its upper side and a lower embossed image layer on its lower side. A sealant or adhesive layer is attached to at least those portions of the lower side of the holographic layer that are intended to come into direct contact with the container's rim when the sealing member is placed upon and is sealed to a container. A metal foil layer lies over and covers and is adhesively bonded to the upper side of the holographic layer and may be inductively heated to actuate the heat actuated sealant. A tab covers and is adhesively bonded to the metal foil layer and may be pulled to remove the sealing member from a container. After this sealing member is attached to a container, and when the tab is pulled to remove the sealing member from the container, almost the entire sealing member pulls away from the container, but those portions of the holographic layer's lower embossed image layer that are attached directly to the rim of the container by the sealant or adhesive layer remain attached to the rim of the container to form a hologram that runs around the container's rim.
Abstract:
A two-piece induction seal for use in creating clean, safe, and secure inner seals on containers having a monolayer plastic formed from synthetic fibers with stable pore dimensions for fluid permeability while retaining dimensional stability for compression. An inductive innerseal membrane is provided having a first side and a second side thereof, with an adhesive layer at the first side of the membrane. The second side of the membrane is detachably bound to the synthetic material with a wax layer. The synthetic material is further suitable for absorbing substantially all of said wax layer when said wax layer is in liquid form.
Abstract:
A pull-tab sealing member for a container providing a foamed polymer layer positioned within the sealing member for effective heat sealing to the container together with a lower laminate below a tab capable of tearing to provide a tamper evident structure below the tab.
Abstract:
A sealing member or inner seal for a sealing to a rim of a container is described herein that is capable of initially providing sealing for the container and subsequently for providing a dispenser or dispensing feature having a cleanly formed opening or other passage therethrough for dispensing container contents. The sealing members or inner seals herein are constructed from flexible sheets or laminates defining one or more integrated or preformed dispensing feature(s) or element(s) for dispensing contents from the container. The one or more integrated dispensing feature(s) or element(s) are initially covered on both sides to be exposed for use upon removal of a portion of the sealing member.
